Stripe is the payment processor that handles all transactions for your market. You must complete Stripe onboarding before your market can accept payments.

What is Stripe Connect?

Stripe Connect lets Cre8aplace route payments directly to your bank account. You create a Stripe account (or connect an existing one), and Stripe handles payment processing, security, fraud prevention, and payouts.

The Onboarding Process

1. Create your market — after submitting the create form, you'll be prompted to connect Stripe
2. Click "Connect with Stripe" — this redirects you to Stripe's hosted onboarding page
3. Provide your information — Stripe asks for:
   • Your legal name and date of birth
   • Your address
   • Your bank account or debit card for payouts
   • Your Social Security Number (last 4 digits) or Tax ID for tax reporting
   • A brief description of what you sell
4. Verification — Stripe verifies your identity (usually instant, sometimes takes 1-2 business days)
5. Done — once verified, your market status updates automatically and you can start selling

Important Notes

• Stripe is required — your market cannot accept orders without a connected, verified Stripe account
• Your information is secure — Cre8aplace never sees your bank details; they go directly to Stripe
• No commission — Cre8aplace does not charge a fee on your sales. Standard Stripe processing fees apply (typically 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction)
• Payouts — Stripe deposits funds to your bank account on a rolling basis (typically 2 business days after the payment)

Managing Your Stripe Account

You can view your Stripe dashboard at any time at dashboard.stripe.com to check your balance, view payouts, update bank details, and download tax documents. Your market's Settings page also shows your Stripe connection status.

Troubleshooting

• "Stripe payments disabled" — Stripe may need additional verification. Check your email for messages from Stripe or log in to your Stripe dashboard.
• Onboarding didn't complete — go to your market's Settings page and click the Stripe onboarding link to resume where you left off.
