  • For some reason, Dr Hurd didn't share this Facebook post on his website. I hate sharing links to FB, so here's the verbatim text and image of that post:

When people feel guilty for something, they make cause-effect connections where none exist.
That's how it works with "climate change." Yes, we're having some horrible hurricanes. If your property or life is destroyed by such a force, nothing can or should make you feel better. But your entirely justifiable angst does not mean you get to claim, "Well, this is the punishment humans get for being too prosperous, and for having too good a time." Because that's what the climate change mythology is: a guilt parable, designed to get ignorant, uncritical thinkers to do what their masters wish them to do.
There is no punishment for success. Happiness is not a sin. It's not an effortless entitlement, either; happiness is an achievement. If you're fortunate enough to live in a time and place as materially and technologically advanced as ours, you have more to lose. Loss is painful, and nobody can minimize that pain. However, the people who exploit human vulnerability through the pseudoscience of "climate change" are essentially saying, "If you weren't so prosperous and successful, you wouldn't be in this mess. Repent, you capitalist sinner!" That's insane! And note that the people telling us to repent are, without exception, millionaires and billionaires.
The only way for mankind to cope with nature is to master it, to the greatest degree possible. REAL science and economic freedom permit that. The climate change hypothesis would have us believe that we know with 100 percent certainty what creates weather, and that 100 percent of undesirable weather patterns that predate man's time on earth are, nevertheless, man made. That while we can't predict the weather 5 days from now with any degree of certainty, we can be certain of the weather 100 or 1,000 years from now -- IF we just stop driving cars, using dishwashers, eating beef, or doing whatever else they say.
Upset about the latest hurricane? "It's mankind's fault," the pseudoscientists thunder from their government-financed thrones of deceit and manipulation. They're trying to lead us into hopelessness and despair because...well, because that's what sociopaths, narcissists and control freaks do.
Grow up. Turn off Rachel Maddow, The View, Jimmy Kimmel and ABC News. We humans must find better and better ways to protect ourselves from nature. It's the only solution we ever had, or ever will have. And it's how we've come as far as we have.

  • I had a thought hit me this morning about the catastrophe from Helene in NC. In NC, we now have to provide IDs in order to vote. Now, how many people who survived had the time to get their IDs or had them on them when they were swept away by the storm floods? We don't always have our IDs on us when we are in our homes. So, those people who had their homes swept away won't have IDs, so guess what? They won't be able or allowed to vote. They probably won't have time or any way to go get a new Driver's License or any other IDs. So, they will be turned away, IF they can get to a voting station. But illegals have been given IDs and will be allowed to vote. Anyone else see the plan of the regime?
