People often talk about problems of tribalism, how some will attack others of another political bent. Mob mentality is also cited as an issue when large like-minded groups gather and get out of control. There is another aspect to human nature, however, similar to other predators, wherein they can even turn on their own, and it is pernicious - this is pack mentality.
