1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.
We understand the enemy of our souls comes against the believers because they love God and he hates anyone that loves God and anything that represents God. We also understand that he has limited power. He is not omnipresent, meaning he cannot be in more than one place at a time. He is not omniscient, meaning he does not know everything. He is not omnipotent, meaning he does not have all power to do anything he wants to do at any time he wants to do it.
There is One Who is all those things. He lives in the spirit man of every born again believer. He is the Holy Spirit. He is omnipresent because He is right here in this room with me, and He is also right there in the room with you as you read these words. He is omniscient because He knows my next thought and your next thought, and we don't even know that! He is omnipotent because He has all power in His hand. He controls everything. He is the reason that it is hot this summer (don't let anyone make you think it is because of climate change!) and He will be the reason that it is cold this winter. He sets up governments and tears them down. He elevates men and demotes them. He blesses His children and curses their enemies. He is God.
When that trial comes into your life, don't immediately default to the devil. You have One living inside of you Who is greater than the enemy, and Whose permission the enemy has to get in order to affect you. There is nothing that the devil can do to you that God does not allow. Always remember that the power of God is greater than any enemy you will ever face.
