Psalm 3:4-6
I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and He heard me out of His holy hill. Selah.
I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

It has been the burden of my heart over the past year at least, maybe longer, that the church does not spend enough time in prayer, either personal time in their own individual prayer closets, or corporately as a body. I know this because I observe the lives of individuals in my circle of contact. I know that if they prayed more, studied God's Word more and spent time growing and nurturing their faith, what comes out of their mouths would sound way different.

The psalmist shares here that he cried out to the LORD. He was praying. He had confidence in the God of the Bible. He knew that God heard him. As a result, he was able to lie down at night and go straight to sleep, knowing that the God Who never slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:3-4) will take care of everything. Even when many people were coming against him, he trusted God with the outcome.

Believers, pray! Cry out to the LORD and trust Him with the outcome. He hears and answers prayer, and He cares about His children.
