Psalm 5:1-3
Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto Thee will I pray.
My voice shalt Thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee, and will look up.

The psalmist spent much time in conversation with his God. He even went so far as to say that he would cry out to God in the morning. He started his day off submitting himself to his heavenly Father, who knew what he would face each day. He cried out to God to consider his heart's desire and hear the words that crossed his lips. He petitioned God sincerely, early and often.

Believers, we would do well to follow the pattern of the psalmist. We are commanded to pray (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Prayer places the focus where it needs to be, on the One Who can handle the situation. We have no power to do anything outside of the power of the Holy Spirit. Give your day to Him first thing in the morning. Watch Him orchestrate the rest of your day.
