Why do we as Christians gather?

When we come together as the body of Christ, how much thought do we give to the reason we gather? Do our gatherings in any way reflect those of the first century Church? Clearly they should, but I think we've gotten a little off base. This article doesn't cover necessarily all that it should be, but it does address some of the issues.
