If Confederate Memorial Day Goes, Is Memorial Day Next? April 26th is observed in Florida as Confederate Memorial Day. From the southern tip to the western end and points in between, Floridians, with family members who perished in America’s most costly war, marked the observance with prayers and floral tributes. Wreaths were placed at memorial sites and colorful ceremonies were held with patriotic and solemn music.
