John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

We know Who that Word is: His Name is Jesus. Jesus was there in the very beginning, as God was calling all things into existence. God said "...let there be light, and there was light..." (Genesis 1:3), and Jesus was right there in the midst of it all. Jesus is the second Person of the Godhead, the only begotten Son of the Father, the One Who would eventually cover Himself in flesh and come to the earth in the form of a little baby, live a completely sinless life, but then die the death of a criminal to pay the sin debt of the world. His arrival had been prophesied throughout the Old Testament. His arrival came to pass in the New Testament, and everything we have ever read about Him in the Word of God is true. He is coming again! This time, He "...shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom..." (2 Timothy 4:1). He is the "logos", which means "word conceived". He is the "Messiah", which means "word of Yahweh". He is the fulfillment of what was prophesied in God's Word. He always has been and always will be. "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." (Hebrews 13:8).
