EPA Accused of Protecting Itself, Not Public Health, as Water Fluoridation Battle Heats Up

Attorneys for Food & Water Watch and Fluoride Action Network in a landmark fluoride case today accused the EPA of trying to protect itself, instead of protecting the public. The outcome of the EPA’s appeal of a federal judge’s ruling ordering the agency to address the health risks of water fluoridation will shape federal oversight of community water fluoridation and also determine how much power citizens have to force regulatory action when new scientific evidence emerges.
