Genesis 1:20-23

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

Throughout the years, I have taken my children to visit the zoo, the aquarium and the bird park several times.  On those visits, we had the opportunity to see some of the most fascinating sea, land and air creatures.  My personal favorite is the polar bear.  His body is so big that you would think he would find it difficult to move.  But he is one of the most agile animals I have ever witnessed.  On a cool day, you will see him in his habitat frolicking around, enjoying the attention being given to him by onlookers.  He has quite the personality!

I remember the bird park, where we saw some of the most beautiful fowl on earth!  As we stood and watched the flamingos bury their heads in their feathers, standing on one foot, while taking a nap, we also saw the huge turkeys running around flapping their feathers as the male attempted to attract the attention of the female.  What a beautiful sight!

In the aquarium, we watched a huge stingray float around all the other water creatures.  He is one of the most unique creatures.  He always leaves me speechless.

God created all of the creatures I have visited and then some. He created the Canadian geese that block the residential streets in my town as they take their time crossing from one side to the other.  He created the cardinal that sits in the willow tree outside my bedroom window.  He created the birds that fly south for the winter in perfect formation.  He created the turtles who lay hundreds of eggs at a time, and when they hatch they scamper to the ocean waters for protection from their predators.  He created them all on the fifth day.

Each day of creation week, the LORD created something that is uniquely wonderful.  We do not possess the ability to sufficiently admire all that He has done because of our "finite-ness" brought on by sin.  God's glory is evident in everything He created.  If only we could fully appreciate God's glory!
