Psalm 9:9-10

Yahweh also will be a stronghold for the oppressed,  A stronghold in times of distress;  And those who know Your Name will put their trust in You, For You, O Yahweh, have not forsaken those who seek You.

The LORD is the strength for the oppressed.  Oppression will come for the believer in this world...it is part of the result of sin. But God is the believer's deliverer.  While He doesn't always come and rescue us immediately, we can always depend Him for our protection.

Those who know the LORD trust Him.  The more the believer knows the LORD, the more he trusts Him.  The believer trusts Him when they don't know what to do (2 Chronicles 20:12).  Even when He slays them, true believers trust Him (Job 13:15).  "Creature confidences" will fail every time, but God never fails (Romans 9:6a).

Challenges face this writer even as I write these words.  As this particular trial rages, I have promised the LORD that I will trust Him.  There are difficult moments, for sure.  The enemy of our souls tries to whisper in my ear, particularly when I am at my most vulnerable, which is when I am asleep or awake in the middle of the night.  But I know God is going to make a way.  He cares for me, and though my flesh is uncomfortable, my spirit rests in Him.  I know that He will not forsake me.  I encourage you to trust Him also.
