Steve Deace on Gab: 'Consider how unpopular Ditch is with the overall electorate, but his own party's base in particular. And yet despite that, the Right could never mount a single serious challenge to his power before Father Time caught up with him. None of his voluminous betrayals of his base ever created a critical mass to throw him out. An entire generation of Republicans saw this, and it's from this gene pool he will be replaced. What will come next will be a younger version, barring a miracle. This party sucks so bad, we can't even really celebrate the removal of arguably its biggest cancer.'
Steve Deace on Gab: 'Speaker Mike Johnson told House Republicans on a conference call Friday that the compromise he’s negotiating with the rest of the Big Four doesn’t include any major policy wins for the GOP. If this is a GOP House, it seems one could make the case we’d sadly be better off with Democrats in charge for two reasons. First and foremost, politically to give them all the blame for the full brunt of their policies as opposed to the Bud Light version of them we are getting now that Republicans shield them from full responsibility. Second, if they had full responsibility, there’s perhaps a greater chance (albeit slim) Democrats might actually be more responsible in governing if they were fully on the hook for the current economy, as just one example. But all this House GOP has accomplished is providing a deflection for Democrats.'
