- I had a thought hit me this morning about the catastrophe from Helene in NC. In NC, we now have to provide IDs in order to vote. Now, how many people who survived had the time to get their IDs or had them on them when they were swept away by the storm floods? We don't always have our IDs on us when we are in our homes. So, those people who had their homes swept away won't have IDs, so guess what? They won't be able or allowed to vote. They probably won't have time or any way to go get a new Driver's License or any other IDs. So, they will be turned away, IF they can get to a voting station.
