  • Psalm 9:1-2
I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all Thy marvellous works.

I will be glad and rejoice in Thee: I will sing praise to Thy Name, O Thou Most High.

David knew that it is the duty of the believer to give praise to the LORD Most High. If our praise is to be acceptable to Him, we must give it from our whole hearts and not only with our lips. God has done enough where we can always find something to praise Him for, including, but not limited to, the very breath that we are breathing at this moment. We can praise Him for the sight that we are using to read these words. We can praise Him for the creature comforts that we enjoy daily. More importantly than any of that, we should praise Him for His death, burial, and resurrection. We should praise Him for taking on the penalty of our sin, and for preparing a place for us where we can spend all eternity with Him. We deserve death, but He has given us life! For that, we should praise Him. All that He has done should pass through the joy that lives in us and manifest itself in our outward praise.

Be glad in Him, believer! Sing praises to His Name, and give Him the glory He is due.

  • Psalm 9:3-4
When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.
For Thou hast maintained my right and my cause; Thou satest in the throne judging right.

Not even the strongest and most powerful of David's enemies could stand against the LORD God Almighty. They were forced to retreat, to turn back, when pushing against the LORD's anointed. Their efforts failed just like Haman's when he plotted against Mordecai (Esther 6:13).

The same is true for the enemies of God's people today. The world tries to come against the church and the believer (Psalm 3:1-2). But they are no match for the I AM (John 18:6). Jesus not only conquered death, hell and the grave with the work He did on Calvary, but He will cast every enemy of God into eternal punishment (2 Thessalonians 1:8). No enemy of the LORD will stand (Jude 7).

Be encouraged, believer! Unless they repent, those who come against the LORD and His children will suffer the consequences. The victory is already won.

  • I often think of the babies' lives that are spared at abortion clinics; how God has a purpose and a plan for them.

  • As with many photographs of the illegals entering our country, not a single woman or child is present. This is an invasion and must be stopped.
