• Christian, when you have a need, when you struggle, when you are anxious, do you attempt in your own power to find a solution? Or do you bring your troubles to God in prayer?

While we always should depend on Him, and not be anxious, but bring our requests to God in prayer so that we may know His peace (Phil. 4:6-7), we often seek to resolve our difficulties in our own time according to our own wisdom and understanding. Ah, but “the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God” (1 Cor. 3:19). Are we not told, “do not lean on your own understanding”, but instead to “trust in the Lord with all your heart” and “in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Pro. 3:5-6)?

Often, in our stubbornness, in our pride, in our humanity, we forget that though the horse may be prepared for battle, “the victory belongs to the Lord” (Pro. 21:31). In such times, things may seem dark, but this is because God needs to bring us to the end of ourselves in order to remind us of our need for Him.

We ought never to stand in our own strength. Remember, you “can do all things through Him who strengthens” you (Phil. 4:13). And God promises, “I will strengthen you” (Isa. 41:10).

As strong as it may be, your arm is not mighty like His. So instead of relying upon your own wiles, humble yourself before God “that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you” (1 Pet. 5:6-7).

"Bring him unto me." Mark 9:19

Despairingly the poor disappointed father turned away from the disciples to their Master. His son was in the worst possible condition, and all means had failed, but the miserable child was soon delivered from the evil one when the parent in faith obeyed the Lord Jesus' word, "Bring him unto me." Children are a precious gift from God, but much anxiety comes with them. They may be a great joy or a great bitterness to their parents; they may be filled with the Spirit of God, or possessed with the spirit of evil. In all cases, the Word of God gives us one receipt for the curing of all their ills, "Bring him unto me." O for more agonizing prayer on their behalf while they are yet babes! Sin is there, let our prayers begin to attack it. Our cries for our offspring should precede those cries which betoken their actual advent into a world of sin. In the days of their youth we shall see sad tokens of that dumb and deaf spirit which will neither pray aright, nor hear the voice of God in the soul, but Jesus still commands, "Bring them unto me." When they are grown up they may wallow in sin and foam with enmity against God; then when our hearts are breaking we should remember the great Physician's words, "Bring them unto me." Never must we cease to pray until they cease to breathe. No case is hopeless while Jesus lives.

The Lord sometimes suffers His people to be driven into a corner that they may experimentally know how necessary He is to them. Ungodly children, when they show us our own powerlessness against the depravity of their hearts, drive us to flee to the strong for strength, and this is a great blessing to us. Whatever our morning's need may be, let it like a strong current bear us to the ocean of divine love. Jesus can soon remove our sorrow, He delights to comfort us. Let us hasten to Him while He waits to meet us.

  • Brethren, our God is not a distant God. He did not create the universe, set it in motion, then step back to watch how things work out. Our God is intimately involved in His creation, so much so that He sent His only begotten Son to partake of that which He created, taking the form of man, and dying on a cross for our justification.

He set the times and places for where we would live (Acts 17:26). He knows the number of hairs on your head (Mt. 10:30). Through His Son we can draw near (Heb. 7:25).

It should not be surprising then that He keeps watch over us (Prov. 24:12). At times, this may be uncomfortable. It may entail discipline (Heb. 12:11). At times, it should bring us peace.

Regardless the circumstance, we should be thankful. When He hems us in, it is not because He doesn’t want us happy - it is for our benefit. Just as parents sets boundaries for their children, so God sets boundaries for us.

Our Lord knows we face temptation, as He faced temptation Himself (Heb. 2:18). God warned Cain that sin lies in wait, seeking opportunity in us (Gen. 4:7). And He knows the flesh is weak (Mt. 26:41), a problem with which even Paul struggled (Rom. 7:14-25; 8:3). Thus for our protection, for our sanctification, God watches over us.

Let us then not question, but accept with joy, the trials through which we travel on our road to spiritual maturity; for in the end, our faith will be strengthened, and we will be “perfect and complete, lacking in nothing” (Jas. 1:2-4).

"Am I a sea, or a whale, that Thou settest a watch over me?" Job 7:12

This was a strange question for Job to ask of the Lord. He felt himself to be too insignificant to be so strictly watched and chastened, and he hoped that he was not so unruly as to need to be so restrained. The enquiry was natural from one surrounded with such insupportable miseries, but after all, it is capable of a very humbling answer. It is true man is not the sea, but he is even more troublesome and unruly. The sea obediently respects its boundary, and though it be but a belt of sand, it does not overleap the limit. Mighty as it is, it hears the divine hitherto, and when most raging with tempest it respects the word; but self-willed man defies heaven and oppresses earth, neither is there any end to this rebellious rage. The sea, obedient to the moon, ebbs and flows with ceaseless regularity, and thus renders an active as well as a passive obedience; but man, restless beyond his sphere, sleeps within the lines of duty, indolent where he should be active. He will neither come nor go at the divine command, but sullenly prefers to do what he should not, and to leave undone that which is required of him. Every drop in the ocean, every beaded bubble, and every yeasty foam-flake, every shell and pebble, feel the power of law, and yield or move at once. O that our nature were but one thousandth part as much conformed to the will of God! We call the sea fickle and false, but how constant it is! Since our fathers' days, and the old time before them, the sea is where it was, beating on the same cliffs to the same tune; we know where to find it, it forsakes not its bed, and changes not in its ceaseless boom; but where is man-vain, fickle man? Can the wise man guess by what folly he will next be seduced from his obedience? We need more watching than the billowy sea, and are far more rebellious. Lord, rule us for Thine own glory. Amen.

  • When Israel came against Judah to prevent anyone going out or coming in to king Asa, instead of relying upon the Lord God, Asa turned to Ben-Hadad, the king of Aram who lived in Damascus (2 Chron 16). Though Asa was helped at the time, a seer named Hanani came and chastised Asa, telling him he had acted foolishly in not trusting the Lord, and prophesying that from thence forward, Asa would have wars.

Indeed, from that time, Asa was plagued with troubles, refused to turn back to the Lord, and suffered for it. Furthermore, God, through His prophets foretold the destruction of Damascus, a city which would be like a tumultuous sea, and which would have no peace.

Christian, are you trying to deal with issues in your life under your own power? Are you forgetting to seek the Lord and instead leaning on crutches of man's design? This can only bring trouble. For the Lord will break the crutch, and your difficulties will become worse.

But even in such adversity, we can find strength to overcome when we return to Him. Do not be an Asa who in his failing refused to go back to the one who had raised Him up and received hardship in return.

Instead, let Abraham be your example, who though he too failed to always trust in God's plan and timing, who lied about his wife because he feared kings, who took it upon himself to try to fulfill God's promise to him of a son, still turned back to God in faith and was not only restored but blessed as a result.

Oh brethren, that we would only seek Him at all times in all things! We are but fragile flesh, prone to weakness and at war with the sin that lives in our members. Yet we find our strength in Him (Phil. 4:9), and always will if we but rely on Him instead of ourselves.

"There is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet." Jeremiah 49:23

Little know we what sorrow may be upon the sea at this moment. We are safe in our quiet chamber, but far away on the salt sea the hurricane may be cruelly seeking for the lives of men. Hear how the death fiends howl among the cordage; how every timber starts as the waves beat like battering rams upon the vessel! God help you, poor drenched and wearied ones! My prayer goes up to the great Lord of sea and land, that He will make the storm a calm, and bring you to your desired haven! Nor ought I to offer prayer alone, I should try to benefit those hardy men who risk their lives so constantly. Have I ever done anything for them? What can I do? How often does the boisterous sea swallow up the mariner! Thousands of corpses lie where pearls lie deep. There is death-sorrow on the sea, which is echoed in the long wail of widows and orphans. The salt of the sea is in many eyes of mothers and wives. Remorseless billows, ye have devoured the love of women, and the stay of households. What a resurrection shall there be from the caverns of the deep when the sea gives up her dead! Till then there will be sorrow on the sea. As if in sympathy with the woes of earth, the sea is for ever fretting along a thousand shores, wailing with a sorrowful cry like her own birds, booming with a hollow crash of unrest, raving with uproarious discontent, chafing with hoarse wrath, or jangling with the voices of ten thousand murmuring pebbles. The roar of the sea may be joyous to a rejoicing spirit, but to the son of sorrow the wide, wide ocean is even more forlorn than the wide, wide world. This is not our rest, and the restless billows tell us so. There is a land where there is no more sea- our faces are steadfastly set towards it; we are going to the place of which the Lord hath spoken. Till then, we cast our sorrows on the Lord who trod the sea of old, and who maketh a way for His people through the depths thereof.

  • As much as we may wish to understand all things, God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isa. 55:9). When Job questioned Him, God put Job in his place with a series of questions that showed Job just how little He knew. God essentially told Job that trying to explain Himself to Job would be like Einstein trying to explain himself to a cockroach - it would be a completely futile endeavor.

There are many things we will never understand this side of heaven. Ours isn't always to understand, but to trust. So set aside your desire to know all the reasons, to understand why things happen, to comprehend every purpose.

It will suffice us to know two things:
    1) God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Rom. 8:28)

    2) This creation exists for God's glory, and the end of all things will be His glorification.

Christian, don't get lost in the "whys" of this life; instead, focus on giving God glory as you were created to do.

"Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea?" Job 38:16

Some things in nature must remain a mystery to the most intelligent and enterprising investigators. Human knowledge has bounds beyond which it cannot pass. Universal knowledge is for God alone. If this be so in the things which are seen and temporal, I may rest assured that it is even more so in matters spiritual and eternal. Why, then, have I been torturing my brain with speculations as to destiny and will, fixed fate, and human responsibility? These deep and dark truths I am no more able to comprehend than to find out the depth which coucheth beneath, from which old ocean draws her watery stores. Why am I so curious to know the reason of my Lord's providences, the motive of His actions, the design of His visitations? Shall I ever be able to clasp the sun in my fist, and hold the universe in my palm? Yet these are as a drop of a bucket compared with the Lord my God. Let me not strive to understand the infinite, but spend my strength in love. What I cannot gain by intellect I can possess by affection, and let that suffice me. I cannot penetrate the heart of the sea, but I can enjoy the healthful breezes which sweep over its bosom, and I can sail over its blue waves with propitious winds. If I could enter the springs of the sea, the feat would serve no useful purpose either to myself or to others, it would not save the sinking bark, or give back the drowned mariner to his weeping wife and children; neither would my solving deep mysteries avail me a single whit, for the least love to God, and the simplest act of obedience to Him, are better than the profoundest knowledge. My Lord, I leave the infinite to Thee, and pray Thee to put far from me such a love for the tree of knowledge as might keep me from the tree of life.

  • Why they charged Robert J Oppenheimer, the man who invented the Atomic Bomb, and called father of the Atomic Bomb as a traitor, a communist, and took away his Security clearance. To shut him up, to watch him 24/7 to make sure he didn’t talk about the fact that during each Atmospheric Atomic bomb test one of the bombs would set off a chain reaction that would light the heavens and turn our planet into a new STAR. The elements to create a new store are already here. They are in the air we breathe, the water in our oceans. All the Hydrogen to create a new star are here. Oppenheimer knew what an atomic or hydrogen blast could do. Light our heavens into a new star, a new sun; vaporizing everything. Trump, by destroying Iran, is the man of the Melenium put here by God himself. God does not choose perfect men, he chooses men perfect for the job.

  • When His disciples asked Him how to pray, Jesus began, "Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be thy name." First and foremost in all things, we are to recognize God's holiness and give Him glory, as do even the angels. His purpose in creating was for His glory. We are told that whatever we do, it should be done to the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31). In the end, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father (Phil. 2:11).

This leaves only one question for you today: are you glorifying God?
    -------------

    Spurgeon's Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, August 16

"Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name." Psalm 29:2

God's glory is the result of His nature and acts. He is glorious in His character, for there is such a store of everything that is holy, and good, and lovely in God, that He must be glorious. The actions which flow from His character are also glorious; but while He intends that they should manifest to His creatures His goodness, and mercy, and justice, He is equally concerned that the glory associated with them should be given only to Himself. Nor is there aught in ourselves in which we may glory; for who maketh us to differ from another? And what have we that we did not receive from the God of all grace? Then how careful ought we to be to walk humbly before the Lord! The moment we glorify ourselves, since there is room for one glory only in the universe, we set ourselves up as rivals to the Most High. Shall the insect of an hour glorify itself against the sun which warmed it into life? Shall the potsherd exalt itself above the man who fashioned it upon the wheel? Shall the dust of the desert strive with the whirlwind? Or the drops of the ocean struggle with the tempest? Give unto the Lord, all ye righteous, give unto the Lord glory and strength; give unto Him the honour that is due unto His name. Yet it is, perhaps, one of the hardest struggles of the Christian life to learn this sentence- "Not unto us, not unto us, but unto Thy name be glory." It is a lesson which God is ever teaching us, and teaching us sometimes by most painful discipline. Let a Christian begin to boast, "I can do all things," without adding "through Christ which strengtheneth me," and before long he will have to groan, "I can do nothing," and bemoan himself in the dust. When we do anything for the Lord, and He is pleased to accept of our doings, let us lay our crown at His feet, and exclaim, "Not I, but the grace of God which was with me!"
When His disciples asked Him how to pray, Jesus began, "Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be thy name." First and foremost in all things, we are to recognize God's holiness and give Him glory, as do even the angels. ------------- Spurgeon's Morning and Evening Devotions Morning, August 16 "Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name." Psalm 29:2 God's glory is the result of His nature and acts.

  • Trump; The Man of the Melinium

I hope everyone understands the worst of what really could happen. The movie never told you of Robert J. Oppenheimer’s managerial cover up. During the development of the first Atomic bomb to detonate over Japan to end WWII. During the ongoing development in the labs of Los Alamos Oppenheimer’s scientist came up with dangerous calculations. The question Oppenheimer wanted to know is “what would happen to the atmosphere during an A Bomb detonation”. The first calculation Oppenheimer’s scientist came up with showed high probability that the A-Bomb detonation would light the heavens. You see, our air is made of Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, water, helium, hydrogen which makes our Air nice and safe to breathe and the early theory was that during the ignition of the bombs extreme temperature would separate out all the elements of the Air and light the explosive elements causing the earth to become a “star” or like our sun.. Oppenheimer didn’t like the early theoretical calculations and told his Scientist to go back and re-do the calculations. Oppy, did this not once but several times until he got a calculation that he was happy with and the risk showing a low probability of “lighting the heavens”. That was enough for “Oppy” to press ahead and set off the first Atomic Bomb, for now everyone was safe, maybe. Fast forward to today, post many atomic bomb detonations, Now the calculations show that there IS a high probability that our earth, the atmosphere, the oceans could be ignited and light the heavens turning the earth into a new star or sun. Almost all nations including North Korea the rogue hermit kingdom know this and do all their tests, underground. To keep from setting our atmosphere ablaze and Turning the Earch into the new sun its a theory that you can’t light the heavens from an underground test, maybe.

1994 Los Lunas, New Mexico built their new airport out on a Mesa and as construction moved forward they kept digging up grids of copper wire linked to a discovered underground bunker meant to be manned. This was one of many detection grids manned during the first Atomic Bomb test at White Sands New Mexico. The plan was, truly I speak, if and I say if the bomb went off and the Atmosphere was ignited the men manning the grid stations were to call the White House in Washington DC and tell them the world is ending the the fireball atmosphere would reach them in minutes.
Trump is not the President for the decade, the century, but for the Millenia. Iran must be stopped. If they start firing nuclear missles to Israel, the US , Europe or wherever the odds are one or multiples of those A-Bombs WILL light the heavens and the earth will become the New Star like our Sun. Trump must bring Iran to its knees, end its Nuclear development program, get a complete regime change and end this forever dangerous Hell. Every President before Trump has failed and even help create this Hell.

  • Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, April 12

"My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels." Psalm 22:14

Our blessed Lord experienced a terrible sinking and melting of soul. "The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity, but a wounded spirit who can bear?" Deep depression of spirit is the most grievous of all trials; all besides is as nothing. Well might the suffering Saviour cry to His God, "Be not far from me," for above all other seasons a man needs his God when his heart is melted within him because of heaviness. Believer, come near the cross this morning, and humbly adore the King of glory as having once been brought far lower, in mental distress and inward anguish, than any one among us; and mark His fitness to become a faithful High Priest, who can be touched with a feeling of our infirmities. Especially let those of us whose sadness springs directly from the withdrawal of a present sense of our Father's love, enter into near and intimate communion with Jesus. Let us not give way to despair, since through this dark room the Master has passed before us. Our souls may sometimes long and faint, and thirst even to anguish, to behold the light of the Lord's countenance: at such times let us stay ourselves with the sweet fact of the sympathy of our great High Priest. Our drops of sorrow may well be forgotten in the ocean of His griefs; but how high ought our love to rise! Come in, O strong and deep love of Jesus, like the sea at the flood in spring tides, cover all my powers, drown all my sins, wash out all my cares, lift up my earth-bound soul, and float it right up to my Lord's feet, and there let me lie, a poor broken shell, washed up by His love, having no virtue or value; and only venturing to whisper to Him that if He will put His ear to me, He will hear within my heart faint echoes of the vast waves of His own love which have brought me where it is my delight to lie, even at His feet for ever.

  • If Calvary is a place of which you have never heard, it is time. Calvary is the hill on which was planted the cross upon which Jesus Christ died for your sins. Yes, you have sins. No, your "good works" cannot balance them. God's standard is perfection and only One has ever lived up to it - Jesus. He gave His life, His sinless life of perfect obedience, so that you in your disobedience could be reconciled to God. Turn to Him. Have faith in Him. Receive Him and know peace with God that can come only through Him.

    Spurgeon's Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, April 10

"The place which is called Calvary." Luke 23:33

The hill of comfort is the hill of Calvary; the house of consolation is built with the wood of the cross; the temple of heavenly blessing is founded upon the riven rock- riven by the spear which pierced His side. No scene in sacred history ever gladdens the soul like Calvary's tragedy.

"Is it not strange, the darkest hour
That ever dawned on sinful earth,
Should touch the heart with softer power,
For comfort, than an angel's mirth?
That to the Cross the mourner's eye should turn,
Sooner than where the stars of Bethlehem burn?"

Light springs from the midday-midnight of Golgotha, and every herb of the field blooms sweetly beneath the shadow of the once accursed tree. In that place of thirst, grace hath dug a fountain which ever gusheth with waters pure as crystal, each drop capable of alleviating the woes of mankind. You who have had your seasons of conflict, will confess that it was not at Olivet that you ever found comfort, not on the hill of Sinai, nor on Tabor; but Gethsemane, Gabbatha, and Golgotha have been a means of comfort to you. The bitter herbs of Gethsemane have often taken away the bitters of your life; the scourge of Gabbatha has often scourged away your cares, and the groans of Calvary yields us comfort rare and rich. We never should have known Christ's love in all its heights and depths if He had not died; nor could we guess the Father's deep affection if He had not given His Son to die. The common mercies we enjoy all sing of love, just as the sea-shell, when we put it to our ears, whispers of the deep sea whence it came; but if we desire to hear the ocean itself, we must not look at everyday blessings, but at the transactions of the crucifixion. He who would know love, let him retire to Calvary and see the Man of sorrows die.

  • Spurgeon's Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, April 8

"If they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?" Luke 23:31

Among other interpretations of this suggestive question, the following is full of teaching: "If the innocent substitute for sinners, suffer thus, what will be done when the sinner himself- the dry tree- shall fall into the hands of an angry God?" When God saw Jesus in the sinner's place, He did not spare Him; and when He finds the unregenerate without Christ, He will not spare them. O sinner, Jesus was led away by His enemies: so shall you be dragged away by fiends to the place appointed for you. Jesus was deserted of God; and if He, who was only imputedly a sinner, was deserted, how much more shall you be? "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" what an awful shriek! But what shall be your cry when you shall say, "O God! O God! why hast Thou forsaken me?" and the answer shall come back, "Because ye have set at nought all My counsel, and would none of My reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh." If God spared not His own Son, how much less will He spare you! What whips of burning wire will be yours when conscience shall smite you with all its terrors. Ye richest, ye merriest, ye most self-righteous sinners- who would stand in your place when God shall say, "Awake, O sword, against the man that rejected Me; smite him, and let him feel the smart for ever"? Jesus was spit upon: sinner, what shame will be yours! We cannot sum up in one word all the mass of sorrows which met upon the head of Jesus who died for us, therefore it is impossible for us to tell you what streams, what oceans of grief must roll over your spirit if you die as you now are. You may die so, you may die now. By the agonies of Christ, by His wounds and by His blood, do not bring upon yourselves the wrath to come! Trust in the Son of God, and you shall never die.

  • A man with two buckets of fish was leaving Galveston beach well known for its fishing and was stopped by a game warden. The warden asked the man, "Do you have a license to catch those fish?"

The man replied to the game warden, "No, sir. These are my pet fish."

    "Pet fish?!" the warden replied.

"Yes, sir. Every night I take these fish down to this beach and let them swim around for about a half-hour, When I whistle, they all come back, jump back into my buckets, and I take 'em home. We do this every night."

"That's a bunch of hooey," said the warden. "Fish can't do that!"

"No, really! says the man. "Here, I'll show you." And he releases the fish in the ocean.

"Well, I've GOT to see this!" the game warden replied.

The man and the warden stood and waited. After several minutes, the game warden turned to the man and said, "Well?"

    "Well, what?" the man asked.

"When are you going to call them back?" the game warden huffs.

"Call who back?" the man asked.

    "The FISH."

He is using the term “Trump-Proof” as a way of stopping all of the GREAT things that can be done to “Make California Great Again,” but I just overwhelmingly won the Election. People are being forced to leave due to his, & other’s, INSANE POLICY DECISIONS, like the ridiculously rerouting of MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF WATER A DAY FROM THE NORTH OUT INTO THE PACIFIC OCEAN, rather than using it, free of charge, for the towns, cities, & farms dotted all throughout California. They are making it impossible to build a reasonably priced car, the unchecked and unbalanced homeless catastrophe, & the cost of EVERYTHING, in particular “groceries,” IS OUT OF CONTROL. Also, as an “AGENT” for the United States of America on Voting & Elections, I will be DEMANDING THAT VOTER I.D., AND PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP, ARE A NECESSARY PART AND COMPONENT OF THE VOTING PROCESS!
