  • Why are some cities plagued with gun violence and others are not?

"In Florida, you shoot a gun and wound or kill someone, you spend 25 years to Life in prison on top of the sentence for the underlying crime. No probation. No parole. No good time. Just hard time.

In Chicago, when three gang-bangers drive by a busy park and shoot the people there with three guns, wounding two and are caught red-handed moments later after a short chase, the Cook County State’s Attorney charges them with a Class 4 felony: One to three years in prison upon conviction.

No, Senator Harmon made not a single mention about soft-on-crime Democrat prosecutors failing to prosecute violent crimes. No mention on the short sentences meted out to those who are by some miracle convicted of violent crimes. Or how Illinois prison time is like dog-years in reverse.

Instead, he’s summoning insincere crocodile tears about the poor children getting killed in his neighborhood.

Those poor children… like the 14- and 15-year-old gang bangers with dozens of arrests for all manner of violent crime who themselves end up dead. Cry us a river Senator."

  • Good morning everyone - lovely people. I wish you all the best too. To
continue on my blog about the “fear of G-d” I have gleaned from an old book by a Rabbi Nilton Bonder titled
“The Kabbalah of Envy - Transforming Hatred, Anger, and Other Negative Emotions.” Please do not be thrown off by the word Kabbalah. It simply means to dig into hidden meanings and research them out - not the magical red string thinking heard about in the media which is a perversion of the true Kabbalah type commentary on Biblical truths. It’s not some evil abstraction out to get you. It’s an old Hebrew word referring to wisdom that comes with spiritual maturity. This book has been a tough read not translated from the Hebrew comfortably for English speakers. I have gleaned some wonderful Faith ideas from it. So here goes - more on the subject of”Fear of G-d.” And it’s long. Get what you like and discard the rest.

The term “fear of G-d” is not about terror. It’s about having a great intimacy with G-d.
When we are influenced by abstract, subtle principles we can detach ourselves from what we observe in the obvious that doesn’t add up to what we know about Faith and G-d.
What abstract and subtle principles? The causes and effects captured in the term karma, the universal principle of cause and effect, where every action, thought, and word (the cause) creates consequences (the effect) that eventually return to the doer, shaping their destiny. As Scripture states: the principle of sowing and reaping, where actions (causes) directly produce consequences (effects), such as in Galatians 6:7 (“whatever a man sows, that he will also reap”).

To arrive at the “fear of G-d” we need to leave the cult of the god of rewards, the god of necessary, god of power, god of personal veneration (which can be a romanticized element of belief.)
All of that adds up to a symbolic perception of G-d - the idea that things represent other things.
What was the danger of an “idol”? Attributing to “a thing” the power to bless or curse and so veneration of the “thing” was necessary. The nations around Israel in its beginning made things they could see and name that represented what was believed to be their “god.” So Israel was warned - “Do not adopt the practices of the peoples around you.”

We must cast off the fear of others, fear of self, fear of pain and allow ourselves to fear only that which is possible to fear. Fears are not paralyzing emotions, but spur us on to action - mobilizing.

That mobilizing - we do what we know to do that is right. As Scripture tells us how to Love G-d - that first commandment. “If you love Me you will obey Me”
That is the beginning of developing a great intimacy with G-d and is the crown of wisdom.
To obey is becomes another conundrum because our emotions direct us to do what benefits us the most. So we rationalize what we know, “to do” with what we feel should be done for immediate gain.

This shows us where humility is the foundation to grasping the “fear of G-d that becomes wisdom - it’s ankle.
Humility is a deep internalization of our capacity to transform spirituality into a skill that becomes a way of life.
We can live the “Fear of G-d” without a sense of wisdom or any proud awareness of being wise.

To become wise is to be able to erase the fool within us. To become humble is to erase the traces of any wickedness in ourselves. Eliminate jealousy which opens the dimension of envy, aptly described as one of the 7 “deadly sins.” Proverbs 22:4 “The effect of humility is fear of the Lord, wealth, honor, and life.”

To me the “fear of G-d” is a comforting emotion. It’s comforting to know I don’t have to be in control of the world. I don’t have to fear the actions of others because SomeOne bigger than me knows the end of everything from its beginning. And that SomeOne all knowing, tells me to rest in what that end will be even when I don’t understand all the steps leading up to it that might cause me to suffer. Accepting discomfort is necessary to kill “the old man” within us and brings about the realization of a real joy in serving our Beloved Lord. That’s possible to experience even in the face of seeing so much ungodliness in the world. What little bit I can do in the way of right action and prayer is going to have a positive effect I may not see. That just means SomeOne wiser than me sees it and tells me to keep on truck’en on that path of holiness that is a quiet rebellion to any evil inclination.
Holiness - another word we have a hard time relating to because of the enemy out to shame us!
Six characteristics of holiness often cited include humility, love, obedience, self-control (temperance), faithfulness, and purity of heart, reflecting a life SET APART for God,

  • Have a blessed restful and peaceful sleep. Or if you see this in the morning- have a great day.
An ancient saying from a 13th century Spanish Commentator - Rabbenu Bahya: “The ankle- is the foundation of humility.” (Least thought of body part?) it represents humility as the fear of
G-d. Ankle - (how we walk in the world?). Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of
G-d is the beginning of wisdom.” The commentator stated - “humility is superior to wisdom, since the head or crown of wisdom is no more than the ankle of humility.”
How do we understand the concept of the “fear of G-d” beyond religious language? G-d is someone who hears and sees everything is a product of religious pedagogy we learned in childhood, we hopefully update with adult observations of reality and a more mature relationship with our Beloved Lord. The best translation of the idea of “fear of G-d” and its relation to humility is: “Those who fear G-d relate to life through values and notions that transcend the logic of immediate gain.” “Transcend the logic of immediate gain!” What a powerful insight!

  • With all of the Iran and Muslim articles going on. I have a very heavy heart for 2 people. Both females.

One was a very good friend when we were children and into adults. When she came back to the states, it was very awkward. When she was brought back, she was never the same. I know that reason.

When we were both in our early 20's, she met someone that lavished her with many gifts and "acted" like she was the cats meow. She never had to worry about money, she had it personally. It was more that he "acted".

The other was a few years younger than she and I. My Momma's, x daughter inlaw, (Chicago) knew some Islamic's That were just in the states for a short time. It didn't take long, and she left the states. She "claimed" all was well, that she was able to do everything, as she was in the states. She posted on FB, when she was pregnant, and had her 3 baby girls. Then that was it, nothing more about them. Then she was pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy. After that, she no longer posted, no one has heard about or from her.

Neither one of these women were naive, gullible, they were both strong women. So what happened...

I will be the first to tell you, that man or woman can have their self-esteem taken from them. At Least Once, So Don't Be Saying It Can't Be. No Matter How Strong You Are.

I suppose that I'm saying this because, there are so many women out there that need to hear this.

  • A well known Christian leader has asked people of Faith to pray for our nation today, all together at 12 noon, in whatever time is 12 noon wherever you are, as reported on Fox News. Psalm 35 is a good way to pray for our countries leader’s. In our own words we can say, complain - we know every human being has been given a free will to decide to do or not to do, but we know the Eternal Almighty has put in checks and balances as His Holy Spirit is at work.

In ancient Israel G-d told the people to assign sheriffs and law protectors- a police force as they began to reside in the promised Land. Many nations have followed that Biblical example including the US. That tell’s us people who cannot control that free will they have been given to always choose the good, the lawfulness of NOT doing to another what you would HATE being done to yourself. Plus the Laws put in place that protect everyone from violations of a nation’s sovereignty, with protections for citizens from every crime under the Sun. Israel had to fight many enemies within and without.

What we are seeing in the US is a common human plight; there is always someone who will disagree with what is being done to uphold the Law and in the process fight against those who’s main purpose is to protect them. It makes no sense and we don’t understand it. How do we pray for G-d’s will to be done on earth over the will of the lawless?

G-d wants us to pray! Why? Is it lifting up our hearts in a way we honor and praise Him for the righteousness He has decreed in His Word to be the reigning principals on earth? It becomes important we follow our prayers with appropriate actions. We see a majority of our leaders doing that - action is in place.
It’s necessary to pray for the anointed “good guys” success while not neglecting prayers for their haters, our heaters, deceived hearts to be changed. Will we see that happen? We just don’t know, but we continue to pray anyway.

Truth cannot be done away with or ignored. Psalm 52 where King David lamented his suffering at the hands of an evil person can be very encouraging.

In Ps. 75 we are reminded concerning our Beloved G-d and Redeemer “You (G-d) are Illumination, mightier than the mountains of prey.” So please G-d get illuminating, your fighters believe You do not see or hear them so they think there will be no retribution. You will not save us as they believe they are successful, and there will be no accountability.
We need to do what ever is necessary in prayer and in action to tear down the strongholds of the evil Deceiver in the hearts of people and in our nation, so we can see Numbers 10:35 fulfilled:
“Arise Adonai! May your enemies be scattered! Let those who hate You flee before You!” (From The Complete Jewish study Bible - Isights for Jews and Christians.)

  • When God, through Moses, led Israel out of their captivity and slavery in Egypt, He took them out into the wilderness. Despite all they had seen from God leading to their release and the destruction of Pharaoh, the Israelites still grumbled. They were not trusting God.

One of their complaints was lack of food. “Would that we had died by the LORD’S hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger” (Exo. 16:2-3).

Thus, God decided to test them. He would send quail every evening for meat and manna every morning for bread, but each was to gather only what he needed for that particular day. Anything left until morning would breed worms and rot. Except, on the day before the sabbath, they were to gather two days worth, and what was left until the sabbath did not rot.

All this was God’s way of determining whether the Israelites would place their trust in Him and rely on Him daily.

Which, dear brethren, brings us to…us. Are you trusting in God daily to provide for you, rather than grumbling or doing your own thing? Or do you look to a different “god,” money, or something or someone else? Are you depending upon God continually, or do you trust in the strength of your own arm?

Believer, God wants us to depend on Him. This is why Jesus said not to worry for food, drink, clothing, but seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and these needs would be met (Mt. 6:31-33).

Trust in Him. Humble yourself before Him. Cast all your anxiety before Him, because He cares for you (1 Pet. 5:6-7). Do this, and God will provide, and will exalt you at the proper time.

  • Christian, in the parable of the sower, Jesus mentions four types of ground upon which the seed fell. One of those types was rocky soil (Lk. 8:13). In this soil, the seed once sprouting could not develop deep roots. The dirt received the seed gladly enough, but being hard and unyielding, roots could not burrow, and so, when the harshness of the sun beat down upon the plant, it withered.

So it is with many who claim the name of Christ. In good times, all is well, and they are happy to bear the title “Christian.” But when trials and temptations arise, they are not sustained, because they have no root. They quickly fall away and behave as the world.

Perhaps you know someone like this. Perhaps you have behaved in this manner. Dear brethren, this should not be.

Jesus is our root, the vine in which we are the branches. It is from Him we receive our sustenance, and apart from Him, we can do nothing (Jn. 15:5). Apart from Him, we wither and are thrown away (Jn. 15:6). Yet if we abide in Him, by His doing, we will bear much fruit to the glory of God (Jn. 15:5, 8).

Believer, examine yourself today, as is right for one claiming faith (2 Cor. 13:5). Then cling to Him as if your life depends upon it, because it DOES!

    ——————-
    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, January 11

"These have no root." Luke 8:13

My soul, examine thyself this morning by the light of this text. Thou hast received the word with joy; thy feelings have been stirred and a lively impression has been made; but, remember, that to receive the word in the ear is one thing, and to receive Jesus into thy very soul is quite another; superficial feeling is often joined to inward hardness of heart, and a lively impression of the word is not always a lasting one. In the parable, the seed in one case fell upon ground having a rocky bottom, covered over with a thin layer of earth; when the seed began to take root, its downward growth was hindered by the hard stone and therefore it spent its strength in pushing its green shoot aloft as high as it could, but having no inward moisture derived from root nourishment, it withered away. Is this my case? Have I been making a fair show in the flesh without having a corresponding inner life? Good growth takes place upwards and downwards at the same time. Am I rooted in sincere fidelity and love to Jesus? If my heart remains unsoftened and unfertilized by grace, the good seed may germinate for a season, but it must ultimately wither, for it cannot flourish on a rocky, unbroken, unsanctified heart. Let me dread a godliness as rapid in growth and as wanting in endurance as Jonah's gourd; let me count the cost of being a follower of Jesus, above all let me feel the energy of His Holy Spirit, and then I shall possess an abiding and enduring seed in my soul. If my mind remains as obdurate as it was by nature, the sun of trial will scorch, and my hard heart will help to cast the heat the more terribly upon the ill-covered seed, and my religion will soon die, and my despair will be terrible; therefore, O heavenly Sower, plough me first, and then cast the truth into me, and let me yield Thee a bounteous harvest.

  • This is going to be a daily reminder. REGARDING Illegals and Federal and State Government. Maybe one of these days people will wake up, Maybe one of these days, someone else that worked in the area that I did will SPEAK UP.

THE GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN BRINGING THE ILLEGALS UP SINCE THE LAST OF THE 1970’S. AND IT”S TIME FOR PEOPLE TO WAKE UP TO THE FACT THAT “OBAMA CARE” HAS BEEN CALLED MANY THINGS.

Some things I just can't figure out.....
Like why don't more people know this...ESPECIALLY the ones that are supposed to be AWAKE.

In my opinion anyone who would kill someone else without being attacked first is insane, this does not include political or secular stance as an "attack"!
There is a lot of hypocrisy in her "manifesto"...

"These people aren't sane. They're not rational. They're not like us, even if they might echo a few talking points we've shared over the years. That's true regardless of your political affiliation.

They're sick. This girl was so sick that she decided to slaughter children as a way for her name to live on after her. She was apparently such a failure in other aspects of her life that she thought this was the only avenue to achieve that fame. That's not sane. That's not rational. That's not normal.

This is a broken person who is broken to a degree that they often defy political classification, or any other classification."

  • And that is how it should be. The man probably saved that woman's life and she is now free to be with someone who will be better to her than her boyfriend who was killed.

  • Federal Glass Hospitality Snack Sets in Homestead Wheat Pattern Novo
    $95
    Em estoque
    Lincoln, IL
Federal Glass Hospitality Snack Sets in Homestead Wheat Pattern . The reason why I say "new". The way it looks, it has never been used. Though, as you can see by the box, it has had a shelf life.

Vintage Federal Glass Hospitality Snack Sets in Homestead Wheat Pattern With Box 4 Plates 4 Cups Clear Glass 1-56 Is Stamped On Back of Box. Includes 8 pieces; 4 cups and 4 snack trays / plates in Excellent Condition. Plates measures 10 1/8" by 7 1/8". The cups are 3 1/4" across and 2 1/4" tall. It looks to be new, or barely used, the cardboard dividers are still between the plates! Then it may have been a gift to someone because the price sticker was removed from the box lid. PLEASE NOTE: My pre-owned items are sold “as-is”. Vintage pieces have a history and may have flaws in

them. There may be some minor use marks: light brown spots, utensil marks, paint or gild loss. Which

is normal for vintage or antique. I do try to describe major marks: crazing, chips or scratches.

I ACCEPT: CASH APP, CASH IF YOU ARE PICKING UP, OR BANK MONEY ORDER.

VETERANS WILL ALWAYS GET 15% OFF A COMPLETE PURCHASE.

  • If anyone is interested in using household cleaners, with out chemicals, let me know. There is a lot more than cleaners, make up, even BEEF. And more.

Back 33 years ago, I started using a product, that a friend told me about. I didn't start because she was a friend. I started because I used a product.

I'm getting ahead of myself. The owner of the products don't want it to be word of mouth. Which I think is stupid, but I'm not the owner. I'm not able to actually say the name of the Business.

So to proceed. There is not a link, I have to generate emails to whoever is interested.

Now. Back to why, I am involved. Sheila left me a bottle of laundry soap, to try. It was around Christmas time, Whitney, a little over 1 at the time, had a CUTE little red velvet and WHITE, DRESS on. She had a sippy cup, that had grape juice in it. She took the lid off, I thought that the little EXPENSIVE dress was ruined. I used the VERY SMALL AMOUNT of laundry soap with a load of her clothes. It came out BEAUTIFUL! That was the first thing that sold me on the products.

I had people that signed up under me, but life happened. The product is expensive, but well worth it. It's not deluded down. and NO chemicals. Yes, I made money from it.

Fast forward, I was listening to a Patriot sight, and they had an ad. As I listened, I said great! I found it AGAIN. I've been trying to find someone for several years that was involved!!

I called her and she told me she had to send me an email, As I was going down the list of questions. Being the "Patient" person that I am. I called and said, "I know what this is, I've been looking for it again! Just sign me up!"

There is also another item that I used on my Children when they were younger, and again a little over 10 years ago, when I was involved.

My son (Jamie) uses it now. And other products, but one in particular, for pain.

So, if you are interested, send me your email addy in a DM.
