Hi everyone. Have a good week.
Here are some interesting thoughts from the Torah portion on Jacob and Laban. I am sure you all familiar with it. Gen. 28:10 - 32:3
Gleaned thoughts from the goat flock business between those two. Jacob needed wisdom to keep from being defrauded by his idol worshiping father-law, who really didn’t want Jacob to leave and return to Canaan. Verse 27: Laban said, “I have learned by divination that it is on your account that G-d has blessed me.”
We have these possibilities of a relationship with our Almighty beloved G-d, Redeemer, Creator. One - parent-child type relationship and the other Shepard-flock relationship.
In the parent-child, relationship we love G-d like a child loves a parent, a parental relationship with authority figure who gives me what I want. Tender loving feelings , yet with a sense of being completely independent.
In the Shepard-flock relationship we are simply not aware of ourselves as being an independent individual, that’s impossible, we are deeply connected, in a flock, to our Shepard.
Like sheep being led by a Shepherd, we become humble and self-effacing.

Like I have a life and don’t want to spend half my day reading something condensable. Also a lot of Jew hatred with the most ridiculous accusations!! Where do these people get such outlandish ideas! I have tried to challenge some of those braised generalizations with the wisdom, of “agreeing with the devil” when he accuses you, lol, saying we are a very diverse people just like everybody else - good guys and bad guys don’t lump us all together to be a completely evil people. We know that not all of us measure up to righteous standards. Even King David had his haters.
It fell on deaf ears. Their verbally sending me to hell just made me block them. lol. So much anti-Semitism has surfaced, I am shocked. It pops up unavoidable and this old lady doesn’t want to deal with it. It makes me too sad. The level of hatred is scary and makes me feel paranoid.

I am basically a good natured person who wishes harm to no one! So I don’t want to get drawn into their insanity.
How does that saying go? “When you argue with stupid you get degraded to that level and become stupid yourself!” I feel sorry for those folks who choose
to believe stuff that makes them so
angry and so fearful, and so miserable about the world. If I had that kinda hatred in my heart I would not want to get out of bed in the morning. For crying out loud!!! I am sure they are a minority, but it seems like insanity is having a field day!

I have a good life I am very thankful for. And a
sense of being loved by our Beloved Creator G-d and Lord. There are things going on in the world, corruption, harm to others that makes me angry . But I can’t base my outlook on just the bad things. There are good people in the world and there are people on the side of honestly, integrity and lawfulness. There are good fighters on the job. A lot of people are waking up and posting about how unhealthy a lot of our food is and vaccines are not necessary. That part I will miss. There are some good reports on the MAHA movement on FOX. That will just have to be enough for now.

  • Responding to a post on Substack a blogging Christian posted about the killing of Christians in Nigeria asking fellow Christians, “Where is the outrage? My response: Where is the outrage you ask?
Safe and warm, sheltered, far away complacency happens.
With a new administration at the helm, the atmosphere in the US has become more conducive to caring about others. Unfortunately it also pricks bleeding hearts who have a fit about lawbreakers having to face consequences. Victim mentality out of balance.

We Jews have a different philosophical take on it, having been a hated and persecuted people for centuries.
The N.T. says Christians through Faith are now grafted into that branch which is Israel. So we say, “Welcome to the club.” We have warned you, you are next.
No self pity allowed, because of the Biblical truth sometimes G-d uses evil people as His Sword. G-d rains, or reigns, on the just and unjust alike. Even being innocent and on the side of the innocents we get caught in the cross Fire of His chastisements. That’s just the way the world is without the Messiah reigning as the King - reigning in person over the world.
So we say often: G-d was King, G-d is King, G-d will be King. We need Mosheich NOW! Even knowing when the Messiah arrives in person the world will be filled with the knowledge of G-d - the Lord our G-d Who is One, we get conflicted to do whatever we can personally to heal and change the world. Are we very good at that? - No. We have among us those who get involved in the wrong causes, support the wrong people. Yet we have a Faith that G-d will avenge the bloodshed of ALL His servants, so we pray, trust and wait, but NOT with an expectation we will somehow be protected. Does that mean we don’t care? Of course we do! We are called to do whatever is necessary to not stand complacently by the shed blood of our neighbors. We believe despite the unchecked lawlessness we see in the world G-d is at work and whatever good we can do, good deeds, - loving our fellow human beings as we love ourselves is the work of the “spirit of Elijah” to prepare a path for the Messiah to arrive. Everything we do is to be done for the sake of Heaven. In that process of saying no or our own selfishness, can mean really being murdered. G-d’s enemy does his best to keep us distracted by fighting amongst ourselves, keeping the big picture from being seen. That’s the root cause of not being outraged.

  • Just to add, some of my thoughts, the corruption amongst those hating our government and support socialism and communism, or just using their elite status for financial gain reveals a strange alliance to their “idols.” Not figures made and worshiped like in ancient days. The ancient Word’s of G-d to “not worship idols” starts to make a lot of sense.

An ideology can be an idol even when there is proof along with common sense that the systems they are looking to, to “save” humanity do not work.

Confirms their alliance in the face of historical results is evidence of an ingrained form of idolatry.

One of their biggest idols - besides the lies of globalism, is the self, replacing service to others for service to self. It’s absolutely amazing how, in side knowledge of government decisions about to come down make it possible to increase personal wealth! A clever way of using the system that is not illegal.

It is not realized in fighting all those who disagree with them are really fighting G-d, truth and the Golden Rule.

    Adonai Elohenu - Adonai Echad!!
(The Lord is our G-do- The Lord is One)

Those of us who work hard or have worked hard within the framework of Law, Take heart - we have been shining light. Without us the world would be a lot darker. Happy Chanukah! And Merry Christmas!

  • A person who is mentally repressed and a prisoner of their own impulses is lost to seeing the truth. How? Because being provoked involves the tasks of getting angry and then having to calm down. This person can have a lot of rancor which is a waist of time and energy as in their humanity they are carried along, swept along by life without any introspection, self knowledge. The results are there is little space for growth. A deeper reading of reality is missed. How? By their own rancor needing to argue and blame, their theories cannot be lived out by what they apparently think they know and choose to believe. This can create an unhappiness in their life situations they are unable to take responsibility for. Don’t rock my boat. My personal sense of insulation from change or “waking up.”

This kind of rancor requires an immediate response and hatred can be. ferociously expressed, leading to a personally distorted reality. It causes a false reading of reality which enables fear, greed, envy and unrecognized oppression.

I am not smart enough to see this by myself, digging it out from an old book written by a Rabbi and poorly translated, but it makes sense. Having read recently on Substack some very strange beliefs about Jews leading to a warped antisemitism and outright hate. My responses encouraging G-d’s love for all humankind and no returning blame fell on deaf ears. So I just had to block those individuals and walkway.

  • Here is an explanation of what the Hebrew Shabbat or Sabbath is all about. In case you would like to see it from another perspective besides - oh - that’s just their religious thing.
Lol. It’s really not about a religious obedience thing. It’s about HOPE.
In the beginning of creation according to Genesis in the Bible - all life was related and intertwined, and the crown of physical creation was, is humankind. Everyone shared the ultimate dignity of being created in the image of G-d. This world was originally meant to be a paradise. Something else happened when a snake entered the scene and convinced a human being to forgo service of others and only promote what you want for yourself. Forget this, all people are valuable, and use resources only for yourself. So what happened? Humankind believed the lies of the snake and took a different direction. The gates to paradise closed.

Creation happened within time, not within space alone. Time was involved. G-d created the world in 6 days (a metaphor of course) and rested on the 7th day. Then told his humankind to follow suit. Rest on the 7th day too and I your G-d will refresh you. Refresh us from what? From now living in a world that operates without peace. Wars, competition for resources, where before we closed the gates to paradise we had abundant resources and an untrammeled right to life with the world structured to sustain the infinite value of the human being.

Jews have suffered explosion, persecution and destruction because of all the lies believed about them.

Shabbat draws us back to believe paradise can be returned, with a hope in a redemptive fulfillment that will return humankind back to loving G-d and their neighbors in way that recovers the abundance the earth offers making life a good thing for everyone, not just the Jews.
The idea behind Shabbat- a day of rest from all kinds of working to get needs meant, from all media and the news. Phones turned off. Meals and everything else prepared ahead of time so a true rest from the cultural demands can happen. Then we get together with each other and celebrate our value, looking to our hope.

The idea behind observing Shabbat is to remember our original creation that G-d spoke into existence. Now living in a world of paradise lost, we get to create a day of remembrance and that gives us hope that what has been lost, when humanity grows up G-d will return. The Messiah will arrive and the value of a human being will be restored as all the earth and everyone on it will be able to understand G-d’s original plan, get to know G-d as the earth will be filled with the knowledge of our benevolent Creator.
Shabbat is Judaism’s central attempt to inject Hope into life. To find a way to live dialectically, accepting the world, affirming its sanctity, participating in it fully and enjoy it. Jew’s have become the prophets of permanent descent because our Biblical faith is a permanent revolution. A revolution that is moving in ceaseless steps towards justice and a messianic fulfillment.
Shabbat keeps us from a permanent dissent leading us to being sour and cynical. For dwelling on the “not yet” can rob every present moment of its intrinsic value.
Through total immersion in the Shabbat experience, Jews renew the hope and live the reality of a redeemed world in our now. There is no work to be done, no deprivation, no anxiety or bad news. The world does not yet exist in space but in time so on the 7th day we step out of time and enter a perfect world for a night and a day. As time travelers we create a reality that makes it possible for us to absorb true values and be renewed. G-d knows the end of a thing before its beginning and when G-d says take a 7th day rest He is challenging us to be in His rest of His work completed though we haven’t seen the “end” yet. It is there. We are waiting in anticipation for it. Everything G-d accomplished in person as our Messiah is on its way to fulfillment and our Messiah will arrive/ return when it is time for Him to do so. When looking outside of time the end of the beginning is seen and yes, G-d is still at work in the world accomplishing His Word while in His Throne room outside of time He says take a day of rest and know you will eventually see it had all been done. completed. It’s a gift we can experience in our now. Adapted from Rabbi Irving Greenberg’s book -“The Jewish way to living the Holidays.”

  • Hi everyone.

  • I thought this was very interesting and a good reason to be optimistic and a realist at the same time

    Help Out of Nowhere
King David prayed with these words: “I lift my eyes to the mountains, from whence will come my help?”

The Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson of righteous memory, once explained: The words “from whence” can also be translated as “from nothingness”—meaning that there is nothing in existence that could possibly help.

But then, David continues, “My help is from G‑d, maker of heaven and earth.” Beyond existence.

You see people believe that only fools are optimists. But the opposite is true. Precisely because we understand how desperate the situation really is, how helpless we are and how impossible the challenge, that itself tells us how great a G‑d we have—a G‑d who can lift us high beyond the natural order and transform the most ominous darkness to brilliant good.

The greater a realist you are, the greater your joy.

  • Have a blessed day everyone.
In Psalm 49 A warning in case we get complacent, to self satisfied and forget to guard our heart. Yes, as believers and Biblical believing people we are holy, set apart and loved. Yet, we too go the way of all flesh - “But man will not repose in glory; he is likened to the silenced animals. …. Destined for the grave….(our hope) G-d will redeem my soul from the hands of the grave.” (Psalm 49)
That’s enough to remind us of humility and strengthen us to withstand any onslaught of hateful words, those condemning attacks.
So we return love for hate extending mercy in prayer and leave it all in our Beloved G-d’s hands.
Return harsh words? Sometimes silence is prayer. Sometimes saying I get you are anger, - have a good life, can open a door to calm. Sometimes avoiding a subject that pushes someone’s buttons will silence a raging inner demon. President Trump somehow knows when to do that with visiting dignitaries or newly elected socialists. We need to do that with naysaying, negative friends and family.
Have a blessed day everyone. …. Destined for the grave….(our hope) G-d will redeem my soul from the hands of the grave.” (Psalm 49) That’s enough to remind us of humility and strengthen us to withstand any onslaught of hateful words, those condemning attacks. • Good morning! I am recovering nicely from knee replacement surgery. Pain happens, but the end result will pay off as I will be able to walk in the remaining days of my appointed years to serve our Beloved Lord. . ( Only G-d knows how many as I am 87!)
Reading Psalm 119 a few of those holy prayers stood out.
Translated from the Hebrew- “ Those who fear You will see me (in my victory), and rejoice, because I have hoped in Your Word. … I will meditate upon Your precepts… may my heart be perfect in Your statues, so that I not be shamed….Forever, O Lord, Your Word stands firm in the heavens . Your faithfulness persists for all generations.” — May every Truth teller take heart, trust and be in peace in this war between good and evil!

  • Psalm 94 is so encouraging when the trolls and the TDS people post, or rant slander nonsense against our president. “The Lord is a G-d of retribution; O G-d of retribution, reveal Yourself! Judge of the earth, arise; render to the arrogant their recompense.” Yet Esau who rejected his birthright in the Covenant with G—d established by his ancestors, to be a servant and follower of our Beloved G-d did receive a blessing too. So how do we bless our enemies who do not understand a president like Trump returning law and order to our nation is a blessing? Ways to pray for their souls of course. Claim the end of the Satan’s hold on their minds to end, because that foe has been defeated already. Guard our own hearts and Trust the ONE in perfect Justice and Mercy to bring His retribution as a blessing.

  • Have a lovely weekend all in Cali lots of rain. Cali is getting a down pour in our area! Recovering from new knee surgery, Noe I have a bionic knee!
    Taking it easy, breezy.
For me pain comes and goes. I can walk pretty good with a walker! Once completely healed my leg should be straight as an arrow, strong as a brick and as flexible as a rubber band.
(Ha ha - but not to flexible).

I will climb mountains, swim across rivers - in my head as I as I walk around the block.
Getting antsy now - to move it, move it, move it. ( song from my fave cartoon movie Madagascar - the Lemur.)
