  • When God brought Israel out of Egypt, in the third month of their wanderings, He dictated to Moses those laws we now call the “Ten Commandments.” The fourth among them was to “remember the sabbath day” (Ex. 20:8). God expected on the seventh day of the week that the Israelites should rest, just as He had done on the day after the six days of creation (Ex. 20:11).

God knew, since He created man, that man could not work every day without respite. But in time, the Jewish leadership took this commandment much further than God had intended. As such, Jesus corrected them saying, “the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath”(Mk. 2:27). The day was set apart for us, as we are to be for God.

What is often missed in considering the sabbath and its rest, especially by those now who still expect it to be observed according to the law, is that the seventh-day sabbath was merely a shadow of our true sabbath rest - our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As Jesus preached to the masses, “come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest” (Mt. 11:28). True rest is found in Christ. As the author of Hebrews explains, “there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God” (Heb. 4:9). Looked at in context, this verse is about entering God’s true rest, entering His promised land, being found in Christ.

The truth sabbath is not a specific day of the week, or a special holy day - our True Sabbath is Jesus Himself, and we are to “fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it” (Heb. 4:1).

Brethren, always remember, “we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God” (Heb. 4:14), who also called Himself the “Lord…of the Sabbath” (Mk. 2:28). And our High Priest, Who Himself is Lord of the Sabbath, is indeed our great Sabbath rest.

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, January 18

"There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God." Hebrews 4:9

How different will be the state of the believer in heaven from what it is here! Here he is born to toil and suffer weariness, but in the land of the immortal, fatigue is never known. Anxious to serve his Master, he finds his strength unequal to his zeal: his constant cry is, "Help me to serve Thee, O my God." If he be thoroughly active, he will have much labour; not too much for his will, but more than enough for his power, so that he will cry out, "I am not wearied of the labour, but I am wearied in it." Ah! Christian, the hot day of weariness lasts not for ever; the sun is nearing the horizon; it shall rise again with a brighter day than thou hast ever seen upon a land where they serve God day and night, and yet rest from their labours. Here, rest is but partial, there, it is perfect. Here, the Christian is always unsettled; he feels that he has not yet attained. There, all are at rest; they have attained the summit of the mountain; they have ascended to the bosom of their God. Higher they cannot go. Ah, toil-worn labourer, only think when thou shalt rest for ever! Canst thou conceive it? It is a rest eternal; "a rest that" remaineth. "Here, my best joys bear" mortal "on their brow; my fair flowers fade; my dainty cups are drained to dregs; my sweetest birds fall before Death's arrows; my most pleasant days are shadowed into nights; and the flood-tides of my bliss subside into ebbs of sorrow; but there, everything is immortal; the harp abides unrusted, the crown unwithered, the eye undimmed, the voice unfaltering, the heart unwavering, and the immortal being is wholly absorbed in infinite delight. Happy day! happy! when mortality shall be swallowed up of life, and the Eternal Sabbath shall begin.

  • When God, through Moses, led Israel out of their captivity and slavery in Egypt, He took them out into the wilderness. Despite all they had seen from God leading to their release and the destruction of Pharaoh, the Israelites still grumbled. They were not trusting God.

One of their complaints was lack of food. “Would that we had died by the LORD’S hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger” (Exo. 16:2-3).

Thus, God decided to test them. He would send quail every evening for meat and manna every morning for bread, but each was to gather only what he needed for that particular day. Anything left until morning would breed worms and rot. Except, on the day before the sabbath, they were to gather two days worth, and what was left until the sabbath did not rot.

All this was God’s way of determining whether the Israelites would place their trust in Him and rely on Him daily.

Which, dear brethren, brings us to…us. Are you trusting in God daily to provide for you, rather than grumbling or doing your own thing? Or do you look to a different “god,” money, or something or someone else? Are you depending upon God continually, or do you trust in the strength of your own arm?

Believer, God wants us to depend on Him. This is why Jesus said not to worry for food, drink, clothing, but seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and these needs would be met (Mt. 6:31-33).

Trust in Him. Humble yourself before Him. Cast all your anxiety before Him, because He cares for you (1 Pet. 5:6-7). Do this, and God will provide, and will exalt you at the proper time.

  • At the outset of Daniel, we read of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, invading the land of Israel, taking the Israelites captive back to Babylon (Dan. 1:1-2). Once in Babylon, he sought to imbue the Israelites, at least the young, fit, intelligent men, with the language and culture of Babylon. All that Nebuchadnezzar did was to turn these men from their God.

Among them, Daniel (which means “God is my judge”), to whom he gave the new name Belteshazzar, meaning “Bel protects the king”, Bel being the name of a Babylonian god (Dan. 1:7).

We see similar today in our own culture. Those around us seek to imbue us with their beliefs. They wish us to accept and even encourage their sin, their idolatry as it were. They change the language, overriding the meanings and underpinnings of words used for centuries (marriage, gender, etc.) and attempt to induce Christians to acquiesce.

Yet like Daniel, who “made up his mind that he would not defile himself” (Dan. 1:8), and his companions, Hananiah (renamed Shadrach), Mishael (renamed Meshach), and Azariah (renamed Abed-nego), who chose to honor God rather than please the king, we must stand firm on our faith and reject the culture’s attempts at coercion.

We must be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord (1 Cor. 15:58). We must not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of our minds (Rom. 12:2).

Let not threats from or fear of those who belong to the world deter you from your devotion to God. For God knows your troubles. Consider Him who endured hostility by sinners against Himself so that you will not grow weary and lose heart (Heb. 12:3). Do not fear; for He is our God - He will strengthen us, help us, uphold us (Isa. 41:10). There is nothing man can do to us that compares to what God can do to all (Mt. 10:28).

If we endure, we will one day reign with Him (2 Tim. 2:12). Refuse to bow to the gods of this world, and He will be with us just as He was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego in the fiery furnace (Dan. 3:8-27).

  • Brethren, when the Israelites first erected the tabernacle in the wilderness, first the priests had to be sanctified, then Aaron, the chief priest, was to don a golden plaque on his headwear, a plaque that read, “Holy to the Lord,” and after, he would take away “the iniquity of the holy things which the sons of Israel consecrate” (Ex. 28:38).

Imagine that - these things that were “holy,” set aside as gifts to the Lord by the Israelites, needed to be cleansed of their “iniquity.”

Does this conjure any images for you? An image of yourself perhaps? For this is what God has done for us through Jesus! Jesus is our High Priest, one who need not make sacrifice for His own sin, as He had none (Heb. 7:27). No, He offered up Himself as a sacrifice for us, once for all (Heb. 7:27).

And in so doing, He took away our iniquity that we might be holy to God (Eph. 1:4).

Yes, we are now gifts sent aside for the Lord by Christ, and we should live as such. Since we have been cleansed of our iniquity by Christ, and appear holy before God, make every effort to put off the flesh, to present your body as a holy and living sacrifice (Rom. 1:12), and to be holy as He is holy (1 Pet. 1:16).

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, January 8

"The iniquity of the holy things." Exodus 28:38

What a veil is lifted up by these words, and what a disclosure is made! It will be humbling and profitable for us to pause awhile and see this sad sight. The iniquities of our public worship, its hypocrisy, formality, lukewarmness, irreverence, wandering of heart and forgetfulness of God, what a full measure have we there! Our work for the Lord, its emulation, selfishness, carelessness, slackness, unbelief, what a mass of defilement is there! Our private devotions, their laxity, coldness, neglect, sleepiness, and vanity, what a mountain of dead earth is there! If we looked more carefully we should find this iniquity to be far greater than appears at first sight. Dr. Payson, writing to his brother, says, "My parish, as well as my heart, very much resembles the garden of the sluggard; and what is worse, I find that very many of my desires for the melioration of both, proceed either from pride or vanity or indolence. I look at the weeds which overspread my garden, and breathe out an earnest wish that they were eradicated. But why? What prompts the wish? It may be that I may walk out and say to myself, 'In what fine order is my garden kept!' This is pride. Or, it may be that my neighbours may look over the wall and say, 'How finely your garden flourishes!' This is vanity. Or I may wish for the destruction of the weeds, because I am weary of pulling them up. This is indolence." So that even our desires after holiness may be polluted by ill motives. Under the greenest sods worms hide themselves; we need not look long to discover them. How cheering is the thought, that when the High Priest bore the iniquity of the holy things he wore upon his brow the words, "HOLINESS TO THE LORD:" and even so while Jesus bears our sin, He presents before His Father's face not our unholiness, but his own holiness. O for grace to view our great High Priest by the eye of faith!

  • RED ALERT! TRUMP’S MILITARY IS ARRESTING THE GLOBAL ELITES — GITMO IS ACTIVE — BIOWEAPON EXECUTIVES, CENTRAL BANKERS, HUMAN TRAFFICKERS TAKEN IN WORLDWIDE RAIDS — QFS IS LIVE — TRILLIONS SEIZED — ESCAPE ROUTES SHUT — THIS IS THE FULL TAKEDOWN!
Under President Trump’s command, the quiet war has exploded into full force. What started as targeted raids and sealed indictments is now the biggest takedown of the deep state cabal in history. In December 2025, it's not just enforcement—it's the total destruction of the criminal empire that's manipulated finance, wars, media, and governments for generations. Patriots, the storm is here! The elites are panicking, and justice is unleashing like never before!
The arrests are rolling out in classified ops by the U.S. Military Alliance, teaming up with defected international allies who've turned against the old corrupt order. Intelligence bosses, banking kingpins, and biotech overlords are being rounded up in ops masked as routine probes. In Switzerland, four elite bankers got nabbed in November, their laundered funds exposed—tied to Ukraine biolabs, Balkan organ trafficking, and South American currency sabotage. These weren't just money men; they guarded hidden gold stashes from WWII, now being funneled back to the people via the unbreakable Quantum Financial System (QFS). No more Fed or IMF stranglehold—the QFS is gold-backed and elite-proof, wiping out their fraud empires. WWG1WGA— we're reclaiming our wealth!
Globally, the Alliance strikes hard. In Monaco, three tech tyrants were hauled away for running surveillance grids disguised as climate trackers—spying on freedom fighters and patriots to enforce their social credit nightmare. In Germany, a pharma giant fell, linked to Ukraine bioweapons and payoffs to hide vaccine horrors. Seized docs prove they bribed media and agencies to suppress the truth about injuries from their poison jabs. The awakening is massive—their bioweapon agenda is crumbling under Trump's hammer!
In the Middle East, U.S. Spec Ops with UAE and Saudi backups are smashing trafficking rings funneling kids and drugs into Europe. U.N. "philanthropists" got busted in Dubai, their crypto trails leading to BlackRock laundromats. These border-pushers were really trading humans and hiding profits in fake green investments. No more open borders betrayal—the wall of justice is closing in!
Back home, the DoD has activated orders for military oversight on crimes against humanity. GITMO is buzzing, with new Pacific and Indian Ocean sites as tribunal fortresses for untouchables: ex-spy chiefs, NGO crooks, and election riggers tied to bioweapons and surveillance. Private jets grounded in London, Brussels, D.C.—political clans, tech founders, royals, even Hollywood puppets vanishing. Escape havens like Argentina and New Zealand? Sealed tight by naval intercepts. The cabal's running scared, but there's nowhere to hide!
Sealed indictments from 2017 are unsealing fast. Marshals and Space Force analysts nabbing lobbyists, bankers, and rogue CIA/FBI traitors involved in election theft and child cover-ups. Trump's not backing down—he's the lion leading the charge, purging the swamp deeper than ever! His directives unite ICE, DHS, NSA under a patriot shield to root out infiltrators.
Next up: QFS rollout exposes every stolen dollar, every trafficking deal, every bioweapon buck. Digital access cards will end central bank tyranny. The old order is dying—their invisibility shattered! This is accountability on steroids, America spearheading the global revolution under a President beholden to no one but We the People.

  • " BREAKING NEWS — BULGARIA ERUPTS

Mass Protests • Street Clashes • Police Crackdown

    Sofia is on fire tonight.
Tens of thousands of Bulgarians have stormed the streets in one of the largest anti-government protests in years, triggered by what citizens call a corrupt 2026 state budget designed to hide theft at the highest levels of power.

Police forces clashed violently with demonstrators.
Shields, batons, chaos — the capital felt like a battlefield.

    What set the country off?

Protesters say the new budget is:
    •A mask for massive corruption,
•A shield for oligarchs and political elites,
•A direct attack on families already crushed by inflation,
•Another attempt to silence a nation that has had enough.

For many Bulgarians, this is the breaking point."

The depopulation agenda: How vaccines, AI and globalist elites are targeting humanity
The elites—backed by institutions like the WHO and WEF—are actively pursuing population reduction under false pretenses (climate change, public health), with vaccines, AI and societal destabilization as primary tools. COVID-19 mRNA injections have caused an estimated 100+ million deaths worldwide (per Denis Rancourt’s research), with additional harms like infertility, myocarditis and neurological damage. • Believer, how did you receive your salvation? Was it of your flesh? Did you earn it? Is it because you said a prayer or performed a ritual?

No. It was simply through faith. You believed. We are told, “it is by grace [we] were saved, through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Eph. 2:8-9). Of course, if this was the only instance where works were denied a part in our salvation, one might be led to think otherwise.

But we are also told, “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy” (Tit. 3:5).

Could it really be that easy? When the jailer asked Paul, “what must I do to be saved?”, Paul responded, “believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:30-31).

Not enough? What about Jesus own words? “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life” (Jn. 5:24).

Salvation is a gift. Even our faith is a gift. We cannot earn it, and if we did, it would no longer be a gift. As Paul teaches, “to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness” (Rom. 4:4-5). This is what Scripture tells us of Abraham as well, that “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness” (Rom. 4:3).

    Thus shall all be saved.

And those who are saved get baptized. Why? Because Christ exhorted us to make this outward confession of our entrance into covenant with God. Just as circumcision was an outward sign for the Israelites of entering into covenant with God, baptism is the Christian’s. Make no mistake, it is only an outward sign of an inward change. Because even circumcision was of no avail to the Israelites if their hearts were far from God. For, “he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter” (Rom. 2:29).

So then what benefit is there in baptism? Much. Again, it is our sign of the covenant, but it is also a sign of obedience. And how did Jesus regard such? “He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me” (Jn. 14:21), He exclaimed. As well, this outward sign is a picture of our burial with Christ: “we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:4).

Believer, if you have not yet been baptized, why not? What is preventing or delaying you? And if you have, then let us walk in newness of life, butting off the flesh and its evil deeds, and living by the Spirit who we received from God (1 Cor. 2:12).

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Evening, October 5

"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." Mark 16:16

Mr. MacDonald asked the inhabitants of the island of St. Kilda how a man must be saved. An old man replied, "We shall be saved if we repent, and forsake our sins, and turn to God." "Yes," said a middle-aged female, "and with a true heart too." "Ay," rejoined a third, "and with prayer"; and, added a fourth, "It must be the prayer of the heart." "And we must be diligent too," said a fifth, "in keeping the commandments." Thus, each having contributed his mite, feeling that a very decent creed had been made up, they all looked and listened for the preacher's approbation, but they had aroused his deepest pity. The carnal mind always maps out for itself a way in which self can work and become great, but the Lord's way is quite the reverse. Believing and being baptized are no matters of merit to be gloried in- they are so simple that boasting is excluded, and free grace bears the palm. It may be that the reader is unsaved- what is the reason? Do you think the way of salvation as laid down in the text to be dubious? How can that be when God has pledged His own word for its certainty? Do you think it too easy? Why, then, do you not attend to it? Its ease leaves those without excuse who neglect it. To believe is simply to trust, to depend, to rely upon Christ Jesus. To be baptized is to submit to the ordinance which our Lord fulfilled at Jordan, to which the converted ones submitted at Pentecost, to which the jailer yielded obedience the very night of his conversion. The outward sign saves not, but it sets forth to us our death, burial, and resurrection with Jesus, and, like the Lord's Supper, is not to be neglected. Reader, do you believe in Jesus? Then, dear friend, dismiss your fears, you shall be saved. Are you still an unbeliever, then remember there is but one door, and if you will not enter by it you will perish in your sins.

    Chapter 82

1 (A Psalm of Asaph.) God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

    Psalms
    Chapter 83

1 (A Song or Psalm of Asaph.) Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

    6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

    7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

9 Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

10 Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.

11 Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

    14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;

15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

  • Christian, do you keep God at arm’s length in your life? Does He seem distant to you, or do you distance yourself from Him? Why should this be?

James tells us that we should “draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (Jas. 4:8).

What excuse are you using to not be close to Him? Are you harboring some personal desire, perhaps a hidden sin, that prevents you being intimate with Him? Is there anything in your mind or heart of which God isn’t already aware?

If something is holding you back, confess it, for He is faithful and just and will forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 Jn. 1:9). There is no sin so great it cannot be washed clean by the blood of Jesus. This is why Scripture says we should “draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water” (Heb. 10:22).

By the greatness of the love God has bestowed on us, we are called His children (1 Jn. 3:1). What child would not wish to be close to such a loving Father?

Beloved, be not like the Israelites of whom Isaiah wrote, or the Pharisees against whom Jesus quoted Isaiah saying, “this people draw near with their words and honor Me with their lip service, but they remove their hearts far from Me, and their reverence for Me consists of tradition learned by rote” (Isa. 29:13). Instead, “let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb. 4:16). He has called us to be “a people near unto Him” (Ps. 148:14).

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Evening, September 15

"A people near unto him." Psalm 148:14

The dispensation of the old covenant was that of distance. When God appeared even to His servant Moses, He said, "Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet"; and when He manifested Himself upon Mount Sinai, to His own chosen and separated people, one of the first commands was, "Thou shalt set bounds about the mount." Both in the sacred worship of the tabernacle and the temple, the thought of distance was always prominent. The mass of the people did not even enter the outer court. Into the inner court none but the priests might dare to intrude; while into the innermost place, or the holy of holies, the high priest entered but once in the year. It was as if the Lord in those early ages would teach man that sin was so utterly loathsome to Him, that He must treat men as lepers put without the camp; and when He came nearest to them, He yet made them feel the width of the separation between a holy God and an impure sinner. When the gospel came, we were placed on quite another footing. The word "Go" was exchanged for "Come"; distance was made to give place to nearness, and we who aforetime were afar off, were made nigh by the blood of Jesus Christ. Incarnate Deity has no wall of fire about it. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," is the joyful proclamation of God as He appears in human flesh. Not now does He teach the leper his leprosy by setting him at a distance, but by Himself suffering the penalty of His defilement. What a state of safety and privilege is this nearness to God through Jesus! Do you know it by experience? If you know it, are you living in the power of it? Marvellous is this nearness, yet it is to be followed by a dispensation of greater nearness still, when it shall be said, "The tabernacle of God is with men, and He doth dwell among them." Hasten it, O Lord.

    Evening, July 17

"Let not one of them escape." 1 Kings 18:40

When the prophet Elijah had received the answer to his prayer, and the fire from heaven had consumed the sacrifice in the presence of all the people, he called upon the assembled Israelites to take the priests of Baal, and sternly cried, "Let not one of them escape." He took them all down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there. So must it be with our sins- they are all doomed, not one must be preserved. Our darling sin must die. Spare it not for its much crying. Strike, though it be as dear as an Isaac. Strike, for God struck at sin when it was laid upon His own Son. With stern unflinching purpose must you condemn to death that sin which was once the idol of your heart. Do you ask how you are to accomplish this? Jesus will be your power. You have grace to overcome sin given you in the covenant of grace; you have strength to win the victory in the crusade against inward lusts, because Christ Jesus has promised to be with you even unto the end. If you would triumph over darkness, set yourself in the presence of the Sun of Righteousness. There is no place so well adapted for the discovery of sin, and recovery from its power and guilt, as the immediate presence of God. Job never knew how to get rid of sin half so well as he did when his eye of faith rested upon God, and then he abhorred himself, and repented in dust and ashes. The fine gold of the Christian is oft becoming dim. We need the sacred fire to consume the dross. Let us fly to our God, He is a consuming fire; He will not consume our spirit, but our sins. Let the goodness of God excite us to a sacred jealousy, and to a holy revenge against those iniquities which are hateful in His sight. Go forth to battle with Amalek in His strength, and utterly destroy the accursed crew: let not one of them escape.

  • Spurgeon's Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, June 27

"Only ye shall not go very far away." Exodus 8:28

This is a crafty word from the lip of the arch-tyrant Pharaoh. If the poor bondaged Israelites must needs go out of Egypt, then he bargains with them that it shall not be very far away; not too far for them to escape the terror of his arms, and the observation of his spies. After the same fashion, the world loves not the non-conformity of nonconformity, or the dissidence of dissent, it would have us be more charitable and not carry matters with too severe a hand. Death to the world, and burial with Christ, are experiences which carnal minds treat with ridicule, and hence the ordinance which sets them forth is almost universally neglected, and even contemned. Worldly wisdom recommends the path of compromise, and talks of "moderation." According to this carnal policy, purity is admitted to be very desirable, but we are warned against being too precise; truth is of course to be followed, but error is not to be severely denounced. "Yes," says the world, "be spiritually minded by all means, but do not deny yourself a little gay society, an occasional ball, and a Christmas visit to a theatre. What's the good of crying down a thing when it is so fashionable, and everybody does it?" Multitudes of professors yield to this cunning advice, to their own eternal ruin. If we would follow the Lord wholly, we must go right away into the wilderness of separation, and leave the Egypt of the carnal world behind us. We must leave its maxims, its pleasures, and its religion too, and go far away to the place where the Lord calls His sanctified ones. When the town is on fire, our house cannot be too far from the flames. When the plague is abroad, a man cannot be too far from its haunts. The further from a viper the better, and the further from worldly conformity the better. To all true believers let the trumpet-call be sounded, "Come ye out from among them, be ye separate."
