FROM 150 MILES - Last Week from 150 miles away in Santa Barbara the Palisades fire was still burning un-contained and I could see the smoke rising, but not just rising a few thousand feet but what look like “tens” of thousands of feet. The rising column of smoke , and I’m guessing 30K to 40K feet. One week later, historic weather in the south with snow storms not seen in 10 decades. For years we’ve smogged our cars, closed factories, and regulated pollution and the weather has gotten dryer and hotter. Smoke from the fires must have done something to change the climate. Southern California’s water source is now “toilet to tap” planned for future generations to ponder, splash in, bathe in, and drink. Los Angeles now has a new water district manager who is a real nutcase. His plan is to take sewage and toilet water clean it up (he thinks), and pipe back into everyone’s homes. Well here we are, summer of 2024. In Las Vegas, Nevada we are seeing temperatures in excess of 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The whole southwest desert and coastal communities are experiencing excessive heat. Global Warning is the blame. Starting in late 60’s we were beat up that we had to add smog equipment to our cars causing a car that got 12 to 17 miles per gallon to no get 7 to 9 mpg. But that was not good enough. Instead of big powerful V8 engines we now have 3 cylinder turbo-charged engines in new Ford Broncos, which will only last 80k to 90k miles. And now the environment is truly sicker with excess heat and hurricanes everywhere. Through Flourescent and LED lightbulbs costing 10 times as much as incandescent light bulbs the cost to fix the environment has not worked. We don’t have government.

I was listening to Fox Business Channel on Sirius XM. I don't know who the hosts were, but they were very common sense. They suggested that if the dems want so desperately to prove that Joe is lucid, why don't they allow him to go to a hostile environment for an interview? Let him sit through an interview with some conservative host. My suggestions would be people like Dan Bongino, the Hodge Twins, Tucker Carlson or someone of their ilk. Of course, we know that they would NEVER do that because the truth is that they know how bad it is. Also, they interviewed a gentleman whose wife is one of the top neurologists in the country. He said that she thinks Joe's behavior is more consistent with Parkinson's than Dementia. I do know that Parkinson's and Dementia patients exhibit some of the same symptoms.

I found an ant colony that was tending to some eggs under a flowerpot. Some of the eggs were curling as if wanting to walk by themselves. The ants started moving out when the sunlight appeared, lifting the eggs gently with their mandibles and carrying them to a nearby wooden shelter. I replaced their roof with the flowerpot to deflect the incoming rain, and left their new home undisturbed. The ants are still happy with their digs tonight, and have been taking chunks of suet dropped by the birds.
