  • Retard Tim ...
White people are collectively responsible but not Somali's?
You are a special kind of retard, so retarded you don't realize how retarded you are!

"Minnesota Governor Tim Walz faced renewed scrutiny this week after comments he made regarding the ongoing fraud scandal in the state’s social services programs, in which he stated that “a lot of white men should be holding a lot of white men accountable for the crimes that they have committed.” During remarks addressing the widespread fraud involving members of the Somali community, Walz argued that these communities should “continue to educate folks about why they shouldn’t commit crimes,” suggesting such education should occur “both at home and at schools and in our society.”

The governor weakly contended that broad generalizations about entire communities were unfair, calling it “a pretty hard reach” to suggest that Somalis bore collective responsibility for criminal acts. Walz also criticized President Trump for amplifying the fraud allegations, stating that Trump “made it white hot and very dangerous” when addressing the issue publicly."

"A citizen in a constitutional republic enjoys liberty when government protects rights through established law. Once that government begins surveillance, censorship, or coercion justified by safety concerns, both liberty and independence erode. The surveillance state does not announce its arrival as tyranny. It arrives through incremental expansion and manufactured consent.

A country achieving separation from an empire wins independence. Whether that country secures liberty depends entirely on whether it restrains its own rulers afterward. Most post-colonial states discovered this difficult truth: removing foreign chains means nothing if domestic tyrants fill the vacuum. The declaration of independence marks only a beginning. Building institutions that preserve liberty against domestic power concentration constitutes the actual work." !

  • Brethren, do you make time for prayer? Do you make it a priority?

Countless times in the New Testament we are exhorted to pray. In the garden, Jesus admonishes His disciples to “keep praying,” warning that, though the spirit is willing, the flesh is weak (Mt. 26:41), and even to pray for those who would mistreat them (Lk. 6:28). James explains that the fervent prayer of a righteous man is effective and accomplishes much (Jas. 5:16). The Apostles, at the founding of the Church, devoted themselves to prayer (Acts 6:4). In fact, all those who followed their teaching also devoted themselves to prayer (Acts 2:42).

Paul over and again encourages his readers to “pray at all times” (Eph. 6:18), to not be anxious about anything, but pray (Phil. 4:6-7), and to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thes. 5:17).

With so many passages imploring us to pray, how can we not do so? A relationship cannot exist without communication, thus we must give ourselves to prayer if we wish to have a relationship with our God who saved us. He communicates with us through His word, and He urges us, “devote yourselves to prayer” (Col. 4:2) so that we may communicate with Him.

Let us not neglect our communing with the Lord through prayer, but make it a regular practice at the outset of the day, during moments when we are unoccupied, when concerns arise, before we lie down at night, whenever we are able. Disciplining ourselves to have a strong prayer life will lead to a closer walk with Him.

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, January 2

    "Continue in prayer." Colossians 4:2

It is interesting to remark how large a portion of Sacred Writ is occupied with the subject of prayer, either in furnishing examples, enforcing precepts, or pronouncing promises. We scarcely open the Bible before we read, "Then began men to call upon the name of the Lord;" and just as we are about to close the volume, the "Amen" of an earnest supplication meets our ear. Instances are plentiful. Here we find a wrestling Jacob- there a Daniel who prayed three times a day- and a David who with all his heart called upon his God. On the mountain we see Elias; in the dungeon Paul and Silas. We have multitudes of commands, and myriads of promises. What does this teach us, but the sacred importance and necessity of prayer? We may be certain that whatever God has made prominent in His Word, He intended to be conspicuous in our lives. If He has said much about prayer, it is because He knows we have much need of it. So deep are our necessities, that until we are in heaven we must not cease to pray. Dost thou want nothing? Then, I fear thou dost not know thy poverty. Hast thou no mercy to ask of God? Then, may the Lord's mercy show thee thy misery! A prayerless soul is a Christless soul. Prayer is the lisping of the believing infant, the shout of the fighting believer, the requiem of the dying saint falling asleep in Jesus. It is the breath, the watchword, the comfort, the strength, the honour of a Christian. If thou be a child of God, thou wilt seek thy Father's face, and live in thy Father's love. Pray that this year thou mayst be holy, humble, zealous, and patient; have closer communion with Christ, and enter oftener into the banqueting-house of His love. Pray that thou mayst be an example and a blessing unto others, and that thou mayst live more to the glory of thy Master. The motto for this year must be, "Continue in prayer."

    Chapter 44

1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:

2 Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

5 One shall say, I am the LORD'S; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.

6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.

8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

9 They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.

10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?

11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.

12 The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.

13 The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.

14 He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.

15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.

16 He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:

17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.

18 They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

19 And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?

20 He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.

22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.

    24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

    25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;

26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:

27 That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:

28 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

  • Jesus spoke on multiple occasions of providing water to those who thirst. He did so with the woman at the well, and later, on the last day of the Feast of Booths, a day of holy convocation for the Jews.

He called out, “if anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink” (Jn. 7:37). However, He was not offering a cup of liquid lifted by bucket from a hole in the ground. His teaching was of providing the Holy Spirit to those who believe. As He continued, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water’” (Jn. 7:38).

Dear believer, His Spirit dwells in you (1 Cor. 3:16). You need not thirst, because rivers of living water flow from within you. Drink deep of His Spirit and be filled. Likewise, spread His gospel that others may also enjoy the living water.

A new year is upon us; it is a time of renewing. Drink and thirst no more, and give drink to others. Be refreshed yourself by His Spirit within you, and bring renewal to others by preaching the kingdom.

    Morning, December 31

"In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, if any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink." John 7:37

Patience had her perfect work in the Lord Jesus, and until the last day of the feast He pleaded with the Jews, even as on this last day of the year He pleads with us, and waits to be gracious to us. Admirable indeed is the longsuffering of the Saviour in bearing with some of us year after year, notwithstanding our provocations, rebellions, and resistance of His Holy Spirit. Wonder of wonders that we are still in the land of mercy!

Pity expressed herself most plainly, for Jesus cried, which implies not only the loudness of His voice, but the tenderness of His tones. He entreats us to be reconciled. "We pray you," says the Apostle, "as though God did beseech you by us." What earnest, pathetic terms are these! How deep must be the love which makes the Lord weep over sinners, and like a mother woo His children to His bosom! Surely at the call of such a cry our willing hearts will come.

Provision is made most plenteously"; all is provided that man can need to quench his soul's thirst. To his conscience the atonement brings peace; to his understanding the gospel brings the richest instruction; to his heart the person of Jesus is the noblest object of affection; to the whole man the truth as it is in Jesus supplies the purest nutriment. Thirst is terrible, but Jesus can remove it. Though the soul were utterly famished, Jesus could restore it.

Proclamation is made most freely, that every thirsty one is welcome. No other distinction is made but that of thirst. Whether it be the thirst of avarice, ambition, pleasure, knowledge, or rest, he who suffers from it is invited. The thirst may be bad in itself, and be no sign of grace, but rather a mark of inordinate sin longing to be gratified with deeper draughts of lust; but it is not goodness in the creature which brings him the invitation, the Lord Jesus sends it freely, and without respect of persons.

Personality is declared most fully. The sinner must come to Jesus, not to works, ordinances, or doctrines, but to a personal Redeemer, who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree. The bleeding, dying, rising Saviour, is the only star of hope to a sinner. Oh for grace to come now and drink, ere the sun sets upon the year's last day!

No waiting or preparation is so much as hinted at. Drinking represents a reception for which no fitness is required. A fool, a thief, a harlot can drink; and so sinfulness of character is no bar to the invitation to believe in Jesus. We want no golden cup, no bejewelled chalice, in which to convey the water to the thirsty; the mouth of poverty is welcome to stoop down and quaff the flowing flood. Blistered, leprous, filthy lips may touch the stream of divine love; they cannot pollute it, but shall themselves be purified. Jesus is the fount of hope. Dear reader, hear the dear Redeemer's loving voice as He cries to each of us,

    "IF ANY MAN THIRST,
    LET HIM
    COME UNTO ME
    AND DRINK."
Jesus spoke on multiple occasions of providing water to those who thirst. —————— Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions Morning, December 31 "In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, if any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink." • Dear brethren, do you groan within yourself, eagerly awaiting our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies (Rom. 8:23)? It is well you do. Let us have the confidence of Paul that God, having begun a good work in you, will bring it to completion (Phil. 1:6).

As Solomon asserts in Ecclesiastes, “the end of a matter is better than its beginning” (Ecc. 7:8).

Yes! While we are blessed to have been called, humbled to be among the elect, our life in these tents is fraught with tribulation. Yet our trials here cannot compare to what God has prepared for us (1 Cor. 2:9). And such should be our focus, remembering that nothing can separate us from God’s love for us (Rom. 8:38), and that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us so He can come to take us to be with Him (Jn. 14:2-3).

Let us rejoice in this knowledge that, in the twinkling of an eye, we will be changed; we will put off this corruptible flesh and be clothed with incorruptible bodies (1 Cor. 15:52-54). Then we will go to be with Him forever, where there will no longer be pain nor tear, no illness or death, where God will be our temple and our sun; and indeed, the end of the salvation God wrought in Christ for us will be even better than the beginning!

"Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof." Ecclesiastes 7:8

Look at David's Lord and Master; see His beginning. He was despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Would you see the end? He sits at His Father's right hand, expecting until His enemies be made his footstool. "As He is, so are we also in this world." You must bear the cross, or you shall never wear the crown; you must wade through the mire, or you shall never walk the golden pavement. Cheer up, then, poor Christian. "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof." See that creeping worm, how contemptible its appearance! It is the beginning of a thing. Mark that insect with gorgeous wings, playing in the sunbeams, sipping at the flower bells, full of happiness and life; that is the end thereof. That caterpillar is yourself, until you are wrapped up in the chrysalis of death; but when Christ shall appear you shall be like Him, for you shall see Him as He is. Be content to be like Him, a worm and no man, that like Him you may be satisfied when you wake up in His likeness. That rough-looking diamond is put upon the wheel of the lapidary. He cuts it on all sides. It loses much- much that seemed costly to itself. The king is crowned; the diadem is put upon the monarch's head with trumpet's joyful sound. A glittering ray flashes from that coronet, and it beams from that very diamond which was just now so sorely vexed by the lapidary. You may venture to compare yourself to such a diamond, for you are one of God's people; and this is the time of the cutting process. Let faith and patience have their perfect work, for in the day when the crown shall be set upon the head of the King, Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, one ray of glory shall stream from you. "They shall be Mine," saith the Lord, "in the day when I make up My jewels." "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof."

  • Brethren, how often do we feel alone, abandoned by God, or suffer through trials and tribulations? Life abounds with difficulties, especially for the Christian, but this does not mean God is not present.

Consider your past, all through which you’ve come. Ask yourself, did you truly get through it on your own? No! In the darkest of times, when likely you felt all hope gone, these are the times the Lord carried you. You would not be who you are now had you not endured such ordeals.

And whether you recognize it or not, “thus far the LORD has helped us” (1 Sam. 7:12).

Never forget that He knows the beginning from the end, for He has declared them (Isa. 46:10), and He is the beginning and the end (Rev. 21:6). He knows every hair on your head (Mt. 10:30). He has determined when and where you would live (Acts 17:26). Nothing happens without His knowledge or involvement, not even the fall of a sparrow (Mt. 10:29).

God is always there, helping, guiding, carrying us, whether we recognize it or not. Therefore, let us strive to see Him in all circumstances, to rely on Him, to cast our anxiety on Him (1 Pet. 5:7), and to rest in Him. If He has helped us thus far, surely He will continue to help us throughout all our days.

    Morning, December 29

"Hitherto hath the Lord helped us." 1 Samuel 7:12

The word "hitherto" seems like a hand pointing in the direction of the past. Twenty years or seventy, and yet, "hitherto the Lord hath helped!" Through poverty, through wealth, through sickness, through health, at home, abroad, on the land, on the sea, in honour, in dishonour, in perplexity, in joy, in trial, in triumph, in prayer, in temptation, "hitherto hath the Lord helped us!" We delight to look down a long avenue of trees. It is delightful to gaze from end to end of the long vista, a sort of verdant temple, with its branching pillars and its arches of leaves; even so look down the long aisles of your years, at the green boughs of mercy overhead, and the strong pillars of lovingkindness and faithfulness which bear up your joys. Are there no birds in yonder branches singing? Surely there must be many, and they all sing of mercy received "hitherto."

But the word also points forward. For when a man gets up to a certain mark and writes "hitherto," he is not yet at the end, there is still a distance to be traversed. More trials, more joys; more temptations, more triumphs; more prayers, more answers; more toils, more strength; more fights, more victories; and then come sickness, old age, disease, death. Is it over now? No! there is more yet-awakening in Jesu's likeness, thrones, harps, songs, psalms, white raiment, the face of Jesus, the society of saints, the glory of God, the fulness of eternity, the infinity of bliss. O be of good courage, believer, and with grateful confidence raise thy "Ebenezer," for:

He who hath helped thee hitherto
Will help thee all thy journey through.

When read in heaven's light how glorious and marvellous a prospect will thy "hitherto" unfold to thy grateful eye!
