  • From a post on another site!

Here is the complete 2025 playbook that an average person (or a high-school kid from Kentucky) actually has when a mega-corporation, media conglomerate, or billionaire-funded NGO defames, deplatforms, or destroys their life.

These tools have all been used successfully in the last five years. Most are cheap or free if you know where to look.
    1. Defamation Lawsuits (SLAPPs and Anti-SLAPP)

Regular defamation/libel/slander suit (Covington Catholic kids got $275 million total in settlements from CNN, WaPo, NBC, etc.)

Anti-SLAPP motion (in 33 states + D.C.): if they try to SLAPP you with a frivolous countersuit, you can force them to pay your legal fees early.

Texas Citizens Participation Act, California Anti-SLAPP, Florida’s new 2023 law — all very plaintiff-friendly now.

Pro bono or contingency firms that hate corporate media and will take your case for free if it’s strong:

    Clare Locke LLP (Sandmann’s firm)

    Dhillon Law Group

America First Legal (Stephen Miller’s group)

    Liberty Justice Center

    Southeastern Legal Foundation

    2. Pre-Litigation Demand Letters (the “Legal Notice”)

A $5,000–$15,000 letter from a reputable firm often triggers seven-figure settlements because corporations fear discovery.

Nick Sandmann’s team sent ~50 demand letters; most settled before filing.

    3. Section 230 Work-Arounds (Big Tech Specific)

Platforms are immune for third-party content, but NOT immune for their own editorial statements (“Community Notes,” shadowban notices, “fact-check” labels). Sue for the label itself (Dominion v. Fox, Smartmatic cases).

    State-level laws bypassing 230: Texas HB20 (2022), Florida SB7072 (2021) — upheld in parts by 11th Circuit 2024.

File in state court under deceptive trade practices or consumer-protection statutes (Missouri v. Biden precedent helps).

    4. RICO / Civil Conspiracy Claims

When multiple media outlets + NGOs + advertisers coordinate to destroy you (GDI, NewsGuard, CCDH, Sleeping Giants boycott campaigns), you can sue the entire network under civil RICO or conspiracy.

Missouri v. Biden (2023–2025) proved coordination between government + media + NGOs = discovery goldmine.

    5. Small-Claims or State Court “Private Nuisance” / IIED Suits

File in small-claims court for the $10k–$25k limit — no lawyers allowed, so CNN has to send a $1,500/hr partner to rural Kentucky to defend a tweet.

Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress (IIED) has no cap in most states and is harder to dismiss.

    6. Economic & Reputational Tools (Non-Legal but Brutal)

Counter-boycott: publicize the advertisers and use apps like Goods Unite Us or 2ndVote to organize mass cancellation of their sponsors.

Public records requests (FOIA/MO Sunshine) on any government official who amplified the defamation.

Government or Public Officials also carry Public Official Bonds. It maybe easier to go after and file against the bond or you can use that in the process of getting litigation off the ground.

Crowdfund your legal fees (GiveSendGo, Fundly, Christian crowdfunding sites raised $3M+ for Sandmann, Rittenhouse, Gibson’s Bakery).

    7. Diplomatic / Public Pressure Tools

File ICCPR complaints with the UN Human Rights Committee (U.S. signed it; media censorship violates Article 19).

EU citizens: file GDPR “right to be forgotten” + defamation actions in Ireland/UK against U.S. media.

Get your Congressman or state AG to open a consumer-protection or civil-rights investigation (Missouri AG got $400M+ in settlements that way).

    8. Insurance Coverage Hacks

Most homeowners/renters policies cover “personal injury” (including defamation). File a claim — the insurance company suddenly has a financial incentive to sue on your behalf.

    9. New 2024–2025 Weapons

Eight states now have “Media Accountability Acts” (modeled on Texas) that strip 230 protection from outlets that act as publishers.

Trump’s January 2025 executive order created a federal “Defamation Victims Task Force” inside DOJ — average citizens can submit cases for possible intervention.

Bottom line: the Covington kids proved the playbook works.

You do NOT need to be rich.

You can do this yourself if you want to take the time to learn how or you can find a lawyer or attorney who hates the media more than he loves money, a viral clip of the lie, and the willingness to fight for 18–36 months.

    The tools are there.

    The precedent is set.

The corporations are now terrified the next target won’t be a broke teenager — it’ll be them writing eight-figure checks.

    Use them.

  • Abraham petitioned God multiple times over regarding Sodom before its destruction, that if any righteous men be found in the city, God would spare it for their sakes. Alas, though Abraham haggled from fifty down to ten, the number was not met and Sodom and Gomorrah met a fiery fate.

Yet later, when Paul is concerned about preaching in Corinth, God exhorted Paul not to be afraid or silent, because, He related, “I have many people in this city” (Acts 18:10). Notice God’s phrasing: “I have…” They belong to Him, as do we! We are His!

Believer, never doubt that you are God’s possession, purchased with His own blood (Acts 20:28), by His choice (Eph. 1:4) according to His will (Eph. 1:5). You are no longer a slave to sin, for the Truth (Jesus) has set you free (Jn. 8:34-36). Therefore, we are to be separate, not like this world, but transformed (Rom. 12:2).

God calls us His people, saying, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their god, and they shall be my people” (2 Cor. 6:16). Let us live as those who belong to Him, those who are slaves to righteousness (Rom. 6:19), enslaved to God (Rom. 6:22), not having fellowship with darkness nor idols, that He may be a father to us, and we may be His children (2 Cor. 6:14-18).

And let us not fear to preach His gospel, as He exhorted Paul, for God has many people in “this city.”

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, December 4

"I have much people in this city." Acts 18:10

This should be a great encouragement to try to do good, since God has among the vilest of the vile, the most reprobate, the most debauched and drunken, an elect people who must be saved. When you take the Word to them, you do so because God has ordained you to be the messenger of life to their souls, and they must receive it, for so the decree of predestination runs. They are as much redeemed by blood as the saints before the eternal throne. They are Christ's property, and yet perhaps they are lovers of the ale-house, and haters of holiness; but if Jesus Christ purchased them He will have them. God is not unfaithful to forget the price which His Son has paid. He will not suffer His substitution to be in any case an ineffectual, dead thing. Tens of thousands of redeemed ones are not regenerated yet, but regenerated they must be; and this is our comfort when we go forth to them with the quickening Word of God.

Nay, more, these ungodly ones are prayed for by Christ before the throne. "Neither pray I for these alone," saith the great Intercessor, "but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word." Poor, ignorant souls, they know nothing about prayer for themselves, but Jesus prays for them. Their names are on His breastplate, and ere long they must bow their stubborn knee, breathing the penitential sigh before the throne of grace. "The time of figs is not yet." The predestinated moment has not struck; but, when it comes, they shall obey, for God will have His own; they must, for the Spirit is not to be withstood when He cometh forth with fulness of power- they must become the willing servants of the living God. "My people shall be willing in the day of my power." "He shall justify many." "He shall see of the travail of His soul." "I will divide him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong."

  • If we repent and return, we will be restored. If we have already repented and felt the glory of salvation, we know that the restoration for us is authentic. But, those human feelings can go up and down daily, and sometimes moment to moment, following our level of commitment to the Lord and what He has done for us and our performance as stewards of what He has given us. Repentance, then, plays not just a part in our acceptance of Jesus’ atonement for our sins but an ongoing role due to our daily stumbling and misadventures.

My son is at 75%. Please keep us in prayer that everything will be settled, on this day, out of court. Jamie does need to have another nerve burning, but they no longer do that in Zephyrhills. No doctor there at this time, and the place they recommend, until they do, doesn't accept LOP'S. Thank you.

“Kash Patel, Dan Bongino, working with Chuck Grassley just found very Damning BURN BAGS in a SCIF at the FBI”

Listen to what he says… This is an “Ongoing Criminal Conspiracy” 18 U.S.C. §241, which means they are all Fooked!

“The advantage to conspiracy against rights is that it’s a very broad statute, and there is an ongoing criminal conspiracy. Meaning, the federal statutes of limitations of 5 years would not save these lawfare democrats because the conspiracy is ongoing.”

    — The clock will not save Lawfare Democrats violating 18 U.S.C. §241.
    — The clock starts when the conspiracy ends.

There also needs to be an establishment of businesses and corporations that promote godly values and are able to compete against those that are depraved and evil.

  • Did the government end the filibuster:

The filibuster was not entirely ended by the government, but its use was notably bypassed in a recent Senate vote. On November 9, 2025, the Senate advanced a deal to end the ongoing government shutdown by voting 60-40 to break the filibuster. This allowed the Senate to proceed with a bipartisan spending package without the usual hurdles typically associated with a filibuster.

    Key Details
A group of eight Democratic senators joined all but one Republican to support breaking the filibuster, which was necessary to move forward with a spending bill designed to fund the government through January 30, 2026.
The agreement generated significant backlash among many Democrats, particularly those who were concerned that the plan did not adequately address pressing healthcare issues linked to the Affordable Care Act.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and several progressives criticized the vote, labeling it a betrayal that could lead to increased healthcare costs for millions of Americans.
This recent legislative maneuver reflects ongoing tensions regarding government funding and the use of the filibuster in the Senate.
Did the government end the filibuster: The filibuster was not entirely ended by the government, but its use was notably bypassed in a recent Senate vote. On November 9, 2025, the Senate advanced a deal to end the ongoing government shutdown by voting 60-40 to break the filibuster. This allowed the Senate to proceed with a bipartisan spending package without the usual hurdles typically associated with a filibuster. Key Details A group of eight Democratic senators joined all but one Republican to support breaking the filibuster, which was necessary to move forward with a spending bill designed to fund the government through January 30, 2026.

  • 18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

    28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

    Chapter 19

1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.

4 Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.

5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

6 Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.

7 All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.

10 Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.

11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

12 The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.

13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.

15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.

20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

21 There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

22 The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

23 The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

24 A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.

25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

26 He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.

28 An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.

29 Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

  • Christian, are you tormented by sin? Not just your own, but that which takes place around you? Are you distraught over the general sinfulness of society?

You should be. Sin should have an impact on all believers, whether personal sin or that of others. Of course, our own sin should be waning as we are sanctified daily by walking in the Spirit. But that of the world will ever surround us.

David lamented the sinfulness of the wicked (Ps. 119:53). Likewise, Lot was tormented by the lawless deeds committed by the “unprincipled men” of Sodom and Gomorrah (2 Pet. 2:7-8). Yet He rescued Lot out of the situation.

In the same way, God will one day rescue us. The lawlessness by which we are daily surrounded will be wiped from the earth, and those committing it will meet a fitting end.

Therefore, while we are yet here, let us pray for strength to be kept from such lawlessness, for eyes to be opened to the truth as we preach the gospel that there might be fewer participating in it, that those who continue in sinfulness despite the gospel will receive their just reward, and that we might receive comfort from the sin abounding while we remain in this fallen world.

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Evening, November 2

"Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake Thy law." Psalm 119:53

My soul, feelest thou this holy shuddering at the sins of others? for otherwise thou lackest inward holiness. David's cheeks were wet with rivers of waters because of prevailing unholiness; Jeremiah desired eyes like fountains that he might lament the iniquities of Israel, and Lot was vexed with the conversation of the men of Sodom. Those upon whom the mark was set in Ezekiel's vision, were those who sighed and cried for the abominations of Jerusalem. It cannot but grieve gracious souls to see what pains men take to go to hell. They know the evil of sin experimentally, and they are alarmed to see others flying like moths into its blaze. Sin makes the righteous shudder, because it violates a holy law, which it is to every man's highest interest to keep; it pulls down the pillars of the commonwealth. Sin in others horrifies a believer, because it puts him in mind of the baseness of his own heart: when he sees a transgressor he cries with the saint mentioned by Bernard, "He fell today, and I may fall tomorrow." Sin to a believer is horrible, because it crucified the Saviour; he sees in every iniquity the nails and spear. How can a saved soul behold that cursed kill-Christ sin without abhorrence? Say, my heart, dost thou sensibly join in all this? It is an awful thing to insult God to His face. The good God deserves better treatment, the great God claims it, the just God will have it, or repay His adversary to his face. An awakened heart trembles at the audacity of sin, and stands alarmed at the contemplation of its punishment. How monstrous a thing is rebellion! How direful a doom is prepared for the ungodly! My soul, never laugh at sin's fooleries, lest thou come to smile at sin itself. It is thine enemy, and thy Lord's enemy- view it with detestation, for so only canst thou evidence the possession of holiness, without which no man can see the Lord.

    Chapter 16

1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.

2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.

3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.

11 A just weight and balance are the LORD'S: all the weights of the bag are his work.

12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.

13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.

14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.

15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.

16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.

22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

26 He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.

27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.

28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.

29 A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.

30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.

31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.

32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.

  • Scripture informs us of our Lord’s life in the flesh that He had “no stately form or majesty that we should look upon Him, nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him (Isa. 53:2). There was nothing particularly attractive about Him physically. There was no worldly reason for people to be drawn to Him. Yet Solomon, in allegorical fashion, describes Him as having a head of pure gold and flowing locks, black like a raven (Song of Solomon 511).

No, he was not beautiful by earthly standards, yet he was and is more valuable than pure gold. Is anyone more valuable than our Lord? May it never be!

Likewise, Solomon paints a picture of an incomparable crown of hair, in ways harkening to that which gave Samson his strength. Though we read nought of the Jesus’ earthly strength, et does anyone’s might compare His? Or does anyone deserve so great a crown as Christ Himself? Never shall it be so!

Though our Lord came in humility, appearing in the likeness of sinful human flesh (Rom. 8:3; Phil. 2:5-8), that flesh masked the glory which He had with the father before the world was created (Jn. 17:5).

Three of Lord’s apostles (Peter, James, and John) were blessed to see even a hint of this glory when they went up the mountain with Jesus (Mt. 17:1-2). Just imagine the day when we will see His glory in its fullness and be glorified along with Him (Rom. 8:17)!

While we await that day, let us continue to look to Him now, to see in what limited fashion we may (1 Cor. 3:12) the glory He allows, and to live in such a way as to show that we seek to enter into that glory with Him.

"His head is as the most fine gold, His locks are bushy, and black as a raven." Song of Solomon 5:11

Comparisons all fail to set forth the Lord Jesus, but the spouse uses the best within her reach. By the head of Jesus we may understand His deity, "for the head of Christ is God" and then the ingot of purest gold is the best conceivable metaphor, but all too poor to describe one so precious, so pure, so dear, so glorious. Jesus is not a grain of gold, but a vast globe of it, a priceless mass of treasure such as earth and heaven cannot excel. The creatures are mere iron and clay, they all shall perish like wood, hay, and stubble, but the everliving Head of the creation of God shall shine on for ever and ever. In Him is no mixture, nor smallest taint of alloy. He is for ever infinitely holy and altogether divine. The bushy locks depict His manly vigour. There is nothing effeminate in our Beloved. He is the manliest of men. Bold as a lion, laborious as an ox, swift as an eagle. Every conceivable and inconceivable beauty is to be found in Him, though once He was despised and rejected of men.

    His head the finest gold;
    With secret sweet perfume,
His curled locks hang all as black
    As any raven's plume.

The glory of His head is not shorn away, He is eternally crowned with peerless majesty. The black hair indicates youthful freshness, for Jesus has the dew of His youth upon Him. Others grow languid with age, but He is for ever a Priest as was Melchisedek; others come and go, but He abides as God upon His throne, world without end. We will behold Him tonight and adore Him. Angels are gazing upon Him- His redeemed must not turn away their eyes from Him. Where else is there such a Beloved? O for an hour's fellowship with Him! Away, ye intruding cares! Jesus draws me, and I run after Him.

  • Believer, how did you receive your salvation? Was it of your flesh? Did you earn it? Is it because you said a prayer or performed a ritual?

No. It was simply through faith. You believed. We are told, “it is by grace [we] were saved, through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Eph. 2:8-9). Of course, if this was the only instance where works were denied a part in our salvation, one might be led to think otherwise.

But we are also told, “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy” (Tit. 3:5).

Could it really be that easy? When the jailer asked Paul, “what must I do to be saved?”, Paul responded, “believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:30-31).

Not enough? What about Jesus own words? “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life” (Jn. 5:24).

Salvation is a gift. Even our faith is a gift. We cannot earn it, and if we did, it would no longer be a gift. As Paul teaches, “to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness” (Rom. 4:4-5). This is what Scripture tells us of Abraham as well, that “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness” (Rom. 4:3).

    Thus shall all be saved.

And those who are saved get baptized. Why? Because Christ exhorted us to make this outward confession of our entrance into covenant with God. Just as circumcision was an outward sign for the Israelites of entering into covenant with God, baptism is the Christian’s. Make no mistake, it is only an outward sign of an inward change. Because even circumcision was of no avail to the Israelites if their hearts were far from God. For, “he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter” (Rom. 2:29).

So then what benefit is there in baptism? Much. Again, it is our sign of the covenant, but it is also a sign of obedience. And how did Jesus regard such? “He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me” (Jn. 14:21), He exclaimed. As well, this outward sign is a picture of our burial with Christ: “we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:4).

Believer, if you have not yet been baptized, why not? What is preventing or delaying you? And if you have, then let us walk in newness of life, butting off the flesh and its evil deeds, and living by the Spirit who we received from God (1 Cor. 2:12).

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Evening, October 5

"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." Mark 16:16

Mr. MacDonald asked the inhabitants of the island of St. Kilda how a man must be saved. An old man replied, "We shall be saved if we repent, and forsake our sins, and turn to God." "Yes," said a middle-aged female, "and with a true heart too." "Ay," rejoined a third, "and with prayer"; and, added a fourth, "It must be the prayer of the heart." "And we must be diligent too," said a fifth, "in keeping the commandments." Thus, each having contributed his mite, feeling that a very decent creed had been made up, they all looked and listened for the preacher's approbation, but they had aroused his deepest pity. The carnal mind always maps out for itself a way in which self can work and become great, but the Lord's way is quite the reverse. Believing and being baptized are no matters of merit to be gloried in- they are so simple that boasting is excluded, and free grace bears the palm. It may be that the reader is unsaved- what is the reason? Do you think the way of salvation as laid down in the text to be dubious? How can that be when God has pledged His own word for its certainty? Do you think it too easy? Why, then, do you not attend to it? Its ease leaves those without excuse who neglect it. To believe is simply to trust, to depend, to rely upon Christ Jesus. To be baptized is to submit to the ordinance which our Lord fulfilled at Jordan, to which the converted ones submitted at Pentecost, to which the jailer yielded obedience the very night of his conversion. The outward sign saves not, but it sets forth to us our death, burial, and resurrection with Jesus, and, like the Lord's Supper, is not to be neglected. Reader, do you believe in Jesus? Then, dear friend, dismiss your fears, you shall be saved. Are you still an unbeliever, then remember there is but one door, and if you will not enter by it you will perish in your sins.
