There seems to be a struggle emerging regarding legal immigration policy, arguably the first real test of Trump's ability to reconcile his team of political opponents. On the one side are those representing the tech world engaged in US-based global enterprises like Musk's Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter, etc. He's well supported by Vivek, who also advocates for expansion of H1B visas for tech workers. Vivek brings much better communication and policy expertise to the debate, Elon brings actual production and design experience. Elon is being accused of demoting and suspending X/Twitter users who criticize expanded importation of tech and managerial talent, primarily from India.

On the other side is MAGA adherents, who want to see jobs return to native-born or naturalized Americans and current legal residents.
