  • I was reminded today of a visit that I made to an office supply store back in November 2021. I was assisted by a very kind, very knowledgeable gentleman who helped me find exactly what I needed. As we began the checkout process, we chatted and he made a comment about how America has always been a patriarchal society, mostly dominated by white men. (Mind you, he was a white man with a wedding ring on his finger.) I shared with him that I'm ok with that. I believe in a patriarchal society, since my father was the head of our household, took care of his family, was faithful to his wife, and set up a legacy that will last into the next few generations. I left that store thinking how deep the deception is that has overtaken our society. We don't believe in the order that God ordained for us.

  • Genesis 1:26
God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

Believer, look in the mirror. What you see was created by God, in His image. He made you in His likeness for His glory. You are an image-bearer of the most High God. In this day and age, the image of God is being destroyed by abortion, murder, homosexuality, human trafficking and all other acts against humanity. Trust and believe, God is not pleased with this. He does not like His image being destroyed, and there are consequences for these actions. I firmly believe that God's wrath is on America at this very moment for the 62 million plus babies that have been murdered en utero since 1973.

The first baby that was legally murdered in an abortion clinic would have turned 50 years old this year. That person may have been a productive member of society, working, paying taxes, possibly contributing to the greater good. That person could have been the person who discovered the cure for cancer, or AIDS, or heart disease. That person could have run for political office and totally changed the landscape here in America. That person could have been a highly decorated military officer or a highly educated member of academia. The possibilities are endless, but we will never know because that image bearer of God was destroyed in his or her mother's womb before he or she had the chance to be born. His or her right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were legally taken away.

God is not pleased with His image being destroyed. Unless America repents and overturns the greatest legal destruction of humankind, we will continue to suffer His wrath until He comes to rescue His people.

  • Esther 4:15-17
Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,

Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish,

So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.

It was in Esther's nature to heed the voice of Mordecai. He had adopted her when she had been orphaned as a child. She obviously trusted him because he cared for her. He had advised her not to reveal her nationality too soon, and by taking his advice, her life had taken a dramatic turn for the better. Esther told Mordecai to gather the Jews in Shushan for a three day fast. She did not mention prayer, but as Bible students, we know that when the people of God fasted, they prayed passionately for the God of Israel to move on their behalf. Esther and her maidservants fasted also, just before she went in to make her petition to the king. She had not been invited to see him, and at that time, she was taking her life in her hands, because a person could literally face beheading for approaching the king without permission. But Esther was willing to risk her life for the sake of her people. Had she not gone to the king, her people would have been destroyed.

Had Jesus not interceded for us and became our substitute on the cross, we would be destroyed! He had to bear our weight of sin on His body on the cross to pay the debt of sin that we owed but could not pay. Esther was a type of Christ in that she stood in the gap for her peoples' preservation. She, like Jesus, was a child that the God of the Bible chose to use in adulthood to bless His people. She, like Jesus, loved her people and was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect them from destruction. The LORD Jesus paid the ultimate price for us! If you have not thanked Him lately, take a moment to express your gratitude to Him today for being your substitute.

  • Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I care not whether they be clergymen or laymen, they alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven upon earth.
