Because the so called "churches" are government Owned 501 c 3. And when you try to tell people that, they will ARGUE and say their "preacher" is the best thing since sliced bread. BUT the Main thing is The people believe what they are Told, many only pick up a Bible to take it to their "church" . That is religion. NOT a Relationship... Many people don't know that you can speak to GOD anytime, anywhere. I have a Relationship with My Lord.... and my "church" is getting together with one or two others with LORD in our midst, Just as HE says in His Word.

A little story about church...

We had a fellowship tonight at church. Somebody told me last week that it was a church-wide fellowship, so my husband and I were planning to go, but this morning I noticed in the bulletin that it was for the young adults' SS classes (early 20s-early 40s). We're almost 56 and 61.

I mentioned this offhand to a couple of the younger women I was chatting with after the service this morning and said we probably wouldn't go because we didn't want to be "party crashers". They both declared that to be silly and said, "Just come. Nobody's going to give that a second thought.".

So we decided to go, mainly because we love these young people, but also because we think the Titus 2 multi-gen model is important and we want to help foster that. (Just an aside- all my life I've attended churches with age segregated adult SS classes, and in my experience this really hinders Titus 2 multi-gen fellowship and relationships.)

So we went. Out of about 75 attendees, we were the oldest people there. And we had a wonderful time spending time with these young adults we love. And they seemed to feel the same way, and acted like it was perfectly natural that we were there.

This is just one of the reasons I love my church so much.

But I'll be honest- I have encountered so many downright ugly younger professing Christians on social media who take every chance they get to disrespectfully slander their older "Boomer" brothers and sisters in Christ, that every time I'm in a situation like I was in tonight, I wonder if any of the younger people I'm with are secretly thinking such things about my husband and me. And sometimes I'm hesitant to fellowship with them because of that.

And you know what I do? I tell that thought to shut up and go away, because the younger people at my church aren't like that. They love us, and we love them.

Moral of the story: Don't listen to ungodly idiots on X who wouldn't know Christian character if it walked up and introduced itself, and go love your church.

At this point, it looks like mostly churches in the area are taking donations. As I had time yesterday, I googled and called a few churches. I will post their information later today. (I left it on my desk in my office.) Organizations that are no longer taking donations are referring people to places like Samaritans Purse, The Salvation Army, etc. While these organizations may do some good, I don't trust them to get every item to where it is needed most. I prefer to donate to smaller organizations whose purpose appears to be to truly help those in need. Just my thoughts...#HelpWesternNC

There are several assisted living facilities near where l live, so Wednesday, l decided to check them out to see if l could hold services at any of them. Before I did so, l had coffee with a friend. While going into the coffee shop, one of my wife’s cousins texted me of an assisted living facility near me that wanted someone to do weekly Bible studies. After l left the coffee shop, I went to the facility telling the lady in charge of activities that l was interested in doing the studies, and she was delighted, so starting October 9, l will be holding weekly Bible studies every Wednesday at The Retreat in Fishersville Va. Afterwards l checked at the Birch Estates facility a few miles from me, and got approval to have weekly church services there every Sunday afternoon starting October 6. So Lord willing, l will be pastoring two churches again, and holding weekly Bible studies at another facility. To God be the glory. Pray for this.
