  • Christian, do not fear - keep the faith! For there is laid up for us who finish the course a crown of righteousness (2 Tim. 4:8). Looking forward to receiving this should strengthen us in our daily walk.

We must never give up. We must fight the good fight. We all eventually will lay aside this earthly tent, and what is mortal will be replaced with what is immortal (2 Cor. 5:4).

Yes, for now we groan. We wait eagerly for the redemption of our bodies (Rom. 8:23). We look forward in hope to our adoption as sons. We have not yet received the fulness of God’s promises, but not having seen it, we wait eagerly for it (Rom. 8:24-25).

In the meantime, strive to show yourself a faithful worker, approved by God, rightly handling His word (2 Tim. 2:15). Live as a slave not of sin, but of righteousness (Rom. 6:16-20). Present your bodies a living sacrifice to God, which is true worship (Rom. 12:1). Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Rom. 12:2).

Because blessed are you when you persevere; for once you are approved you will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those of us who love Him (Jam. 1:12). Amen.

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, January 10

"There is laid up for me a crown of righteousness." 2 Timothy 4:8

Doubting one! thou hast often said, "I fear I shall never enter heaven." Fear not! all the people of God shall enter there. I love the quaint saying of a dying man, who exclaimed, "I have no fear of going home; I have sent all before me; God's finger is on the latch of my door, and I am ready for Him to enter." "But," said one, "are you not afraid lest you should miss your inheritance?" "Nay," said he, "nay; there is one crown in heaven which the angel Gabriel could not wear, it will fit no head but mine. There is one throne in heaven which Paul the apostle could not fill; it was made for me, and I shall have it." O Christian, what a joyous thought! thy portion is secure; "there remaineth a rest." "But cannot I forfeit it?" No, it is entailed. If I be a child of God I shall not lose it. It is mine as securely as if I were there. Come with me, believer, and let us sit upon the top of Nebo, and view the goodly land, even Canaan. Seest thou that little river of death glistening in the sunlight, and across it dost thou see the pinnacles of the eternal city? Dost thou mark the pleasant country, and all its joyous inhabitants? Know, then, that if thou couldst fly across thou wouldst see written upon one of its many mansions, "This remaineth for such a one; preserved for him only. He shall be caught up to dwell for ever with God." Poor doubting one, see the fair inheritance; it is thine. If thou believest in the Lord Jesus, if thou hast repented of sin, if thou hast been renewed in heart, thou art one of the Lord's people, and there is a place reserved for thee, a crown laid up for thee, a harp specially provided for thee. No one else shall have thy portion, it is reserved in heaven for thee, and thou shalt have it ere long, for there shall be no vacant thrones in glory when all the chosen are gathered in.

  • Believer, how blessed are we that we should be called children of God (1 Jn. 3:1). We were once enemies of God, by nature children of wrath, separated from Him, dead in our sin (Eph. 2:1-3). But He in His mercy demonstrated His love for us in that, while we were yet sinners, He sent His son to die on a cross for us (Rom. 5:8).

This was not because of any deeds of our own righteousness, but according to His mercy (Tit. 3:5). He is rich in mercy, and while we were yet dead in our sins, He made us alive with Christ (Eph. 2:5)!

How amazing! How humbling! We were nothing, not worthy of anything but condemnation. Yet God loved us and has given us eternal comfort and hope (2 Thes. 2:16).

We were not a people, but He made us His people (1 Pet. 2:10) and has said to us, “I will be their God” (Jer. 31:33). Hallelujah! Praise God for His mercy and love! Come out from the world and be separate as He has called us to do, for He is our God, and we are His people, His children (2 Cor. 6:16-18)!

"I will be their God." Jeremiah 31:33

Christian! here is all thou canst require. To make thee happy thou wantest something that shall satisfy thee; and is not this enough? If thou canst pour this promise into thy cup, wilt thou not say, with David, "My cup runneth over; I have more than heart can wish"? When this is fulfilled, "I am thy God", art thou not possessor of all things? Desire is insatiable as death, but He who filleth all in all can fill it. The capacity of our wishes who can measure? but the immeasurable wealth of God can more than overflow it. I ask thee if thou art not complete when God is thine? Dost thou want anything but God? Is not His all-sufficiency enough to satisfy thee if all else should fail? But thou wantest more than quiet satisfaction; thou desirest rapturous delight. Come, soul, here is music fit for heaven in this thy portion, for God is the Maker of Heaven. Not all the music blown from sweet instruments, or drawn from living strings, can yield such melody as this sweet promise, "I will be their God." Here is a deep sea of bliss, a shoreless ocean of delight; come, bathe thy spirit in it; swim an age, and thou shalt find no shore; dive throughout eternity, and thou shalt find no bottom. "I will be their God." If this do not make thine eyes sparkle, and thy heart beat high with bliss, then assuredly thy soul is not in a healthy state. But thou wantest more than present delights- thou cravest something concerning which thou mayest exercise hope"; and what more canst thou hope for than the fulfillment of this great promise, "I will be their God"? This is the masterpiece of all the promises; its enjoyment makes a heaven below, and will make a heaven above. Dwell in the light of thy Lord, and let thy soul be always ravished with His love. Get out the marrow and fatness which this portion yields thee. Live up to thy privileges, and rejoice with unspeakable joy.

  • A reason to pray for the protesters refusing to protest lawfully as is a right under our national Constitution, instead choosing violence, and uncontrollable rage. There is a very scary Scripture in Psalm 95, once aimed at the rebellious amongst Israel now that the Word of our Beloved G-d is available to all humans. We know our G-d - Redeemer - the Eternal, it’s fearful for us who take His WORD TO HEART to see lawlessness resulting in an untimely death. Ps. 95 translated from the Hebrew: “They are a people of erring hearts, they do not know my ways. So I vowed in My anger that they would not enter My resting place.” 🙏🏻 Big reason to pray!
My heart thoughts tonight. Have a blessed peaceful sleep G-d’s warriors.

  • Isaiah
    Chapter 61

    1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

    2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

  • Brethren, when the Israelites first erected the tabernacle in the wilderness, first the priests had to be sanctified, then Aaron, the chief priest, was to don a golden plaque on his headwear, a plaque that read, “Holy to the Lord,” and after, he would take away “the iniquity of the holy things which the sons of Israel consecrate” (Ex. 28:38).

Imagine that - these things that were “holy,” set aside as gifts to the Lord by the Israelites, needed to be cleansed of their “iniquity.”

Does this conjure any images for you? An image of yourself perhaps? For this is what God has done for us through Jesus! Jesus is our High Priest, one who need not make sacrifice for His own sin, as He had none (Heb. 7:27). No, He offered up Himself as a sacrifice for us, once for all (Heb. 7:27).

And in so doing, He took away our iniquity that we might be holy to God (Eph. 1:4).

Yes, we are now gifts sent aside for the Lord by Christ, and we should live as such. Since we have been cleansed of our iniquity by Christ, and appear holy before God, make every effort to put off the flesh, to present your body as a holy and living sacrifice (Rom. 1:12), and to be holy as He is holy (1 Pet. 1:16).

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, January 8

"The iniquity of the holy things." Exodus 28:38

What a veil is lifted up by these words, and what a disclosure is made! It will be humbling and profitable for us to pause awhile and see this sad sight. The iniquities of our public worship, its hypocrisy, formality, lukewarmness, irreverence, wandering of heart and forgetfulness of God, what a full measure have we there! Our work for the Lord, its emulation, selfishness, carelessness, slackness, unbelief, what a mass of defilement is there! Our private devotions, their laxity, coldness, neglect, sleepiness, and vanity, what a mountain of dead earth is there! If we looked more carefully we should find this iniquity to be far greater than appears at first sight. Dr. Payson, writing to his brother, says, "My parish, as well as my heart, very much resembles the garden of the sluggard; and what is worse, I find that very many of my desires for the melioration of both, proceed either from pride or vanity or indolence. I look at the weeds which overspread my garden, and breathe out an earnest wish that they were eradicated. But why? What prompts the wish? It may be that I may walk out and say to myself, 'In what fine order is my garden kept!' This is pride. Or, it may be that my neighbours may look over the wall and say, 'How finely your garden flourishes!' This is vanity. Or I may wish for the destruction of the weeds, because I am weary of pulling them up. This is indolence." So that even our desires after holiness may be polluted by ill motives. Under the greenest sods worms hide themselves; we need not look long to discover them. How cheering is the thought, that when the High Priest bore the iniquity of the holy things he wore upon his brow the words, "HOLINESS TO THE LORD:" and even so while Jesus bears our sin, He presents before His Father's face not our unholiness, but his own holiness. O for grace to view our great High Priest by the eye of faith!

  • Isaiah
    Chapter 60

1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.

7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.

8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.

10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

15 Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.

18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

  • Christian, what is the purpose of your life? To what end do you live it?

We all should be able to exclaim with Paul, “for me to live is Christ” (Phil. 1:21). Likewise, we should know with certainty that “to die is gain” (Phil. 1:21).

We are but sojourners here, subjects of the King, awaiting our entry into His Kingdom, just as were those great men of faith who lived long ago (Heb. 11). Let us then put aside any love for this world and the things in it; for such is not from the Father but from the world (1 Jn. 2:15-16).

Shall we not instead allow Christ to live through us, living by faith (Gal. 2:20), as slaves of righteousness (Rom. 6:16-20)? We were bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:20), purchased by God’s own blood (Acts 20:28). How then can we not give ourselves over to Him who purchased us?

No, let us not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of our minds, presenting ourselves, our bodies, as holy sacrifices to God (Rom. 12:1-2). And let us for Christ’s sake consider as loss those things which the world treasures, and set our sights on the knowledge of Christ, the value of which surpasses anything this world may offer (Phil. 3:7-8).

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, January 7

"For me to live is Christ." Philippians 1:21

The believer did not always live to Christ. He began to do so when God the Holy Spirit convinced him of sin, and when by grace he was brought to see the dying Saviour making a propitiation for his guilt. From the moment of the new and celestial birth the man begins to live to Christ. Jesus is to believers the one pearl of great price, for whom we are willing to part with all that we have. He has so completely won our love, that it beats alone for Him; to His glory we would live, and in defence of His gospel we would die; He is the pattern of our life, and the model after which we would sculpture our character. Paul's words mean more than most men think; they imply that the aim and end of his life was Christ- nay, his life itself was Jesus. In the words of an ancient saint, he did eat, and drink, and sleep eternal life. Jesus was his very breath, the soul of his soul, the heart of his heart, the life of his life. Can you say, as a professing Christian, that you live up to this idea? Can you honestly say that for you to live is Christ? Your business- are you doing it for Christ? Is it not done for self- aggrandizement and for family advantage? Do you ask, "Is that a mean reason?" For the Christian it is. He professes to live for Christ; how can he live for another object without committing a spiritual adultery? Many there are who carry out this principle in some measure; but who is there that dare say that he hath lived wholly for Christ as the apostle did? Yet, this alone is the true life of a Christian- its source, its sustenance, its fashion, its end, all gathered up in one word- Christ Jesus. Lord, accept me; I here present myself, praying to live only in Thee and to Thee. Let me be as the bullock which stands between the plough and the altar, to work or to be sacrificed; and let my motto be, "Ready for either."

It is little wonder the government thinks we’re stupid.
I have never really felt at a loss for words the way I do right now. I sit contemplating the reactions to Trump's attack on Venezuela, and I realize one disturbing truth. Either the conservative movement is so far gone, so easily distracted, so willing to accept anything this man does simply because they believe he isn't a liberal; or everything is a controlled narrative, and mass support for this is only a perception. A perception created by clever propaganda campaigns which reflect back to a confused and desperate audience a once popular belief that the administration is desperately clinging to, in the hopes of retaining any legitimacy. The belief that Trump is the greatest president ever, engaged in a brilliant game of four-dimensional chess in his efforts to save our country from the left. Some of the memes floating around on social media support this narrative by saying ridiculous things like -- And for my next trick I will make the democrats support a deranged narco terrorist. Memes like this have been used all throughout both of Trump's presidencies to reinforce the idea that the left suffers from what they like to call -- Trump Derangement Syndrome. The truth is that the conservative support for Trump becomes more unbreakable the more the left opposes what he is doing. Trump could kill a puppy on live TV, and his base wouldn't know what to think about it until they see the left's opposition, then they would make excuses for it. Just like they do with everything else. That is the true Trump Derangement Syndrome. Another example of the memes pushing this type of narrative compares Trump's military action to Bush's wars, suggesting that Trump is some type of strategic genius. This is ridiculous and shows -- presuming it is accepted by the conservative base -- just how detached we are from any ability to critically think. Therein lies the point, though. Throughout the pages of this website are numerous links, references and citations which show what is known about the human response to propaganda and persuasive messaging. The study of mass persuasion, which the book Propaganda and Persuasion compares to Psychological Warfare, has been undertaken by the fields of psychology, sociology, communications, rhetoric, philosophy and law. Yet, the majority of us have no clue as to how these techniques affect our perceptions, and our abilities to think freely -- outside of the constructed box that traps our thoughts in a this or that paradigm. For example, we either support Trump's actions and are on the right, or we oppose and are deranged leftists who support narco-terrorist dictators. The truth is that these messages are directed to audiences who are not expected to think at all, only follow along. We are living at a time where illiteracy rates are high, and people's opinions are formed and controlled by quick a minute headlines, memes, and stories that do little more than reinforce popular sentiment. There is a sad reality underlying all of it. We allowed this to happen to ourselves because we have become an entertainment addicted nation, fixated on quick satisfaction, shallow explanations that support our own beliefs, and easy answers which demand as a little of our own responsibility as possible. We are losing our country, our freedom and our own self-identity not because of left-wing authoritarianism or right-wing fascism, if there even is such a thing. But because we have opted to turn our brains off and accept comforting lies that make us feel safe. The conservative movement, for instance, as soon as Trump won the presidency -- both times -- did the same thing the liberals do when their guy wins. They went to sleep under the misguided notion that Trump was fighting for them. They sat back and accepted everything he did because the popular perception was that every move he made infuriated the left; therefore, it must be a great move. We became willing participants in a self-sustaining propaganda campaign which pushed state supported narratives under the guise of popular opinion. This is called participatory propaganda, and it is permeating social media. Every meme shared and every emoji icon clicked reinforces a narrative that protects state sovereignty and is often referred to as a do-it-yourself misinformation campaign. Propagandists have stated that the state can rely on its own citizenry to propagate the false information being fed to them on social media platforms like Facebook. The control of information then, becomes an environmental control that guides behaviors and attitudes in directions useful to the state. It is useful to any administration when people are sharing memes mocking those that question it, I suppose. “Participatory propaganda restores state sovereignty from within. It aims to build walls in the inner spaces of the subject (you) by shaping categories of perception of the environment. First, it constructs the object of a conflict that can potentially divide people. Second, relying on the design of social networks that combine information proliferation with personal interaction, as well as the mediated mobility of devices, it makes this conflict an omnipresent and integral part of everyday life.” (Asmolov, 2019) Our reactions to persuasive messaging and propaganda are under the microscope 24/7. They provide feedback into our abilities to critically evaluate and question what is going on around us. As far as the propagandists are concerned, we might as well all be elementary school students because as a society, we are showing them a willingness to just follow any narrative that tells us what we want we want to hear. When the government watches a large number of people -- for example -- go from demanding the release of the Epstein files, to supporting Trump's attack on Venezuela after heavily redacting them, and even telling people their support is no longer wanted if they believe the files even exist, it is a pretty safe bet they think you are stupid and see no reason to treat you like a thinking human being. The book, Psychology and Modern Warfare: Idea Management in Conflict and Competition says the same thing by describing the public as being very feminine in character, and devoid of sound reasoning logic able to differentiate between conflicting ideas. Rather, they view the public as children who are easily led from one idea to another. Gee, I wonder why. Again, this is a conclusion based on our own behavior and willingness to just accept everything we are told without question. We are doing this to ourselves every time we choose to share a meme, instead of reading an article that challenges our preconceived notions. We propagandize ourselves every time we get behind a narrative that reflects our cognitive biases instead of challenging them. We are telling the propagandists that we believe what we are being fed whenever we discard the idea that we are being lied to by our own party. Within the pages of this website are the links, citations and references to books and academic journals that prove one thing beyond any doubt. The study of propaganda and persuasion is a huge undertaking, and it is being done to better understand how to persuade large audiences into accepting the propagandist's point of view. Yet, the information I am sharing is discarded, and I have been mocked by a very large number of people who are tied to the Trump narrative, defending his every move. People that at this point, I just can no longer take seriously at all. These articles do not get shared by anyone, nor are they are picked up by any algorithm. They are largely ignored. Yet, people can't figure out what is going on around them. I am not arguing that I am correct in every conclusion I make, only that the science of persuasion and propaganda is an academic endeavor, and that messages are targeting audiences who are generally believed to be smart enough to understand them, but not smart enough to know why they need to be questioned. If we don't start asking some questions, we are going to be nothing more than willing participants in the creation of a system that tells us what the correct opinions, beliefs and attitudes are, while punishing those that hold alternative views. We are already willingly propagandizing ourselves every time we share a meme that says, and for my next trick I will make the democrats support a deranged narco-terrorist. Goodness gracious, it is no wonder the government thinks we are stupid.
