    Obama Pushes for Government Regulation of Speech - Geller Report
    This is consistent with the authoritarian practices of the left (and Islam, lest we forget he was raised as a Muslim.) The party that relentlessly wails about "the threat to democracy" wants to police speech (in the name of safety or misinformation) means to erode one of democracy’s core principles: the right to dissent.

  • Proverbs
    Chapter 7

    1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

    2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

    3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

    4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

    5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

    6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

    7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

    8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

    9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

    10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

    11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

    12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

    13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

    14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

    15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

    16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

    17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

    18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

    19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

    20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

    21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

    22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

    23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

    24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

    25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

    26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

    27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

  • Brothers and sisters, do you stand apart from the culture? Do others know you are different simply by observing your behavior, by listening to your speech? Or do you blend in, as if you belong?

    Though we live in the world, we are not of the world; we are of Christ. If we our lives are indistinguishable from the culture, then we must ask, is Christ in us? We are not to love the world nor the things in the world; for if we do, then the love of the Father is not in us (1 Jn. 2:15).

    Nor should we be loved by the world. As Jesus explained, “if you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you” (Jn. 15:19).

    Therefore, let us not “not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Rom. 12:2). Spend time in His word that your mind might be renewed, and that in so doing, that you become more like Him. Stand out, my brethren, as you stand for Christ. Do not be like the world, but be holy as He is holy (1 Pet. 1:16).

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Evening, October 14

    "And be not conformed to this world." Romans 12:2

    If a Christian can by possibility be saved while he conforms to this world, at any rate it must be so as by fire. Such a bare salvation is almost as much to be dreaded as desired. Reader, would you wish to leave this world in the darkness of a desponding death bed, and enter heaven as a shipwrecked mariner climbs the rocks of his native country? Then be worldly; be mixed up with Mammonites, and refuse to go without the camp bearing Christ's reproach. But would you have a heaven below as well as a heaven above? Would you comprehend with all saints what are the heights and depths, and know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge? Would you receive an abundant entrance into the joy of your Lord? Then come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, and touch not the unclean thing. Would you attain the full assurance of faith? You cannot gain it while you commune with sinners. Would you flame with vehement love? Your love will be damped by the drenchings of godless society. You cannot become a great Christian- you may be a babe in grace, but you never can be a perfect man in Christ Jesus while you yield yourself to the worldly maxims and modes of business of men of the world. It is ill for an heir of heaven to be a great friend with the heirs of hell. It has a bad look when a courtier is too intimate with his king's enemies. Even small inconsistencies are dangerous. Little thorns make great blisters, little moths destroy fine garments, and little frivolities and little rogueries will rob religion of a thousand joys. O professor, too little separated from sinners, you know not what you lose by your conformity to the world. It cuts the tendons of your strength, and makes you creep where you ought to run. Then, for your own comfort's sake, and for the sake of your growth in grace, if you be a Christian, be a Christian, and be a marked and distinct one.

  • Dear Christian, do you take time away to meditate upon God’s word? If we wish truly to draw close to Him, to know Him, we must hear from Him. He has given us His word for this purpose.

    Read any section of Psalm 119 and you will find listed an abundance of benefits in reading His word. His word guides our ways as a light in the dark (Ps. 119:105). It helps tokeep our way pure and to keep us from sin (Psalm. 119:9,11). It provides insight (Psalm. 119:99) and understanding (Psalm 119:130).

    Jesus Himself tells us that His word cleanses us (Jn. 15:3), and that the words He spoke are spirit and are life (Jn. 6:63).

    Why then would you not take time to read and meditate upon it? If we wish to be heard of the Father, Jesus exhorted that, not only must we abide in Him, but His words must abide in us (Jn. 15:7).

    Beloved brethren, do not neglect this source of strength, of guidance, and of sustenance. Forget not that “man does not by bread alone, but…by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord” (Deut. 8:3; Mt. 4:4).

    Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions

    Morning, October 12

    "I will meditate in Thy precepts." Psalm 119:15

    There are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wiser than speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God, and gathering through meditation on His Word spiritual strength for labour in His service. We ought to muse upon the things of God, because we thus get the real nutriment out of them. Truth is something like the cluster of the vine: if we would have wine from it, we must bruise it; we must press and squeeze it many times. The bruiser's feet must come down joyfully upon the bunches, or else the juice will not flow; and they must well tread the grapes, or else much of the precious liquid will be wasted. So we must, by meditation, tread the clusters of truth, if we would get the wine of consolation therefrom. Our bodies are not supported by merely taking food into the mouth, but the process which really supplies the muscle, and the nerve, and the sinew, and the bone, is the process of digestion. It is by digestion that the outward food becomes assimilated with the inner life. Our souls are not nourished merely by listening awhile to this, and then to that, and then to the other part of divine truth. Hearing, reading, marking, and learning, all require inwardly digesting to complete their usefulness, and the inward digesting of the truth lies for the most part in meditating upon it. Why is it that some Christians, although they hear many sermons, make but slow advances in the divine life? Because they neglect their closets, and do not thoughtfully meditate on God's Word. They love the wheat, but they do not grind it; they would have the corn, but they will not go forth into the fields to gather it; the fruit hangs upon the tree, but they will not pluck it; the water flows at their feet, but they will not stoop to drink it. From such folly deliver us, O Lord, and be this our resolve this morning, "I will meditate in Thy precepts."

  • Brethren, “there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known” (Mt. 10:26). God sees all. God knows all.

    God knows us intimately. David proclaimed:

    Where can I go from Your Spirit?
    Or where can I flee from Your presence?
    If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
    If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
    If I take the wings of the dawn,
    If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
    Even there Your hand will lead me,
    And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
    If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me,
    And the light around me will be night,”
    Even the darkness is not dark to You,
    And the night is as bright as the day.
    Darkness and light are alike to You.
    Ps. 139:7-12

    We serve a God who knows us intimately, and Christ came that we might know God intimately. For this is eternal life, that we know Him, the only true God and the One He sent, Jesus Christ (Jn. 17:3).

    Let us never think God is afar off, that He does not know or understand, or that He may be taken by surprise. He molds our hearts; He understands all our works (Psalm. 33:15).

    Revel, therefore, in understanding that He knows our every word before it is on our tongues, that He is intimately acquainted with all our ways (Ps. 139:3-4). He knows our needs (Mt. 6:32). Therefore, let us seek His kingdom, and His righteousness with passion and zeal (Mt. 6:33), humbling ourselves before Him and casting all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us (1 Pet. 5:6-7).

    "The Lord looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men." Psalm 33:13

    Perhaps no figure of speech represents God in a more gracious light than when He is spoken of as stooping from His throne, and coming down from heaven to attend to the wants and to behold the woes of mankind. We love Him, who, when Sodom and Gomorrah were full of iniquity, would not destroy those cities until He had made a personal visitation of them. We cannot help pouring out our heart in affection for our Lord who inclines His ear from the highest glory, and puts it to the lip of the dying sinner, whose failing heart longs after reconciliation. How can we but love Him when we know that He numbers the very hairs of our heads, marks our path, and orders our ways? Specially is this great truth brought near to our heart, when we recollect how attentive He is, not merely to the temporal interests of His creatures, but to their spiritual concerns. Though leagues of distance lie between the finite creature and the infinite Creator, yet there are links uniting both. When a tear is wept by thee, think not that God doth not behold; for, "Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him." Thy sigh is able to move the heart of Jehovah; thy whisper can incline His ear unto thee; thy prayer can stay His hand; thy faith can move His arm. Think not that God sits on high taking no account of thee. Remember that however poor and needy thou art, yet the Lord thinketh upon thee. For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect towards Him.

    Oh! then repeat the truth that never tires;
    No God is like the God my soul desires;
    He at whose voice heaven trembles, even He,
    Great as He is, knows how to stoop to me.
    Brethren, “there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known” (Mt. 10:26). God sees all. God knows all. God knows us intimately. David proclaimed: Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me. If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,” Even the darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You. Ps. 139:7-12 We serve a God who knows us intimately, and Christ came that we might know God intimately. 5:6-7). —————— Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotions Morning, September 28 "The Lord looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men." • As much as I dislike kimmel, and the rest of the propagandists, I must defend his right to free speech. Yes, I agree, his comments, as well as the others' comments may be over the line, in my opinion. The question is, where do we draw that line? Either you have the right to speak your mind regardless of the opinions of others, or you do not. I think Trump is treading on very thin ice, that could come back to haunt us all during future administrations. Look at London, for example. Prison time for a facebook post denouncing islam?

  • The whole thing with Jimmy Kimmel is not even about freedom of speech. It's about human decency.
